Aliexpress is systematically scamming Australian customers. Tax amount is always greater than 10%, even before any discounts.
May be including 5% import duty as well
I still blame Gerry for that and I doubt the tax money is being collected anyway.

Quite a few reviews say it's a generic umbrella and has no xiaomi branding/box.
Looks like genuine one comes with a booklet, a box and a logo at the bottom of the handle.
Might still be a great umbrella (and even made at the same factory) but doesn't appear to be genuine based on photos in reviews.

I think they were trying to say it is the Xiaomi Eco chain. As in- This is effectively produced on a line that produces Xiaomi products but it is not produced as a Xiaomi order.
In other words…. it's not Xiaomi since they own a crowdfunding platform (like Indiegogo/Kickstarter) called Youpin. Sellers do the dodgy by selling products crowdfunded there as Xiaomi when it has nothing to do with them.

@RichardL: In other words it's a product from Youpin (Xiaomi's version of Indiegogo) and sold as Xiaomi to make more sales. That little note will certainly make a dispute win a lot harder.

This is not the original Xiaomi Mijia umbrella. Still have one and it's super sturdy. How does this one compare? It looks smaller and the material doesn't look as premium.
