Best Credit Card (Signup Bonus)

Hi all, I will be renovating my house pretty soon and thus will be spending a tonne of money $$$.

I want to know which credit card I should get for the signup bonus since I will be spending a lot in the coming months and can fulfil the spend this much in this many months quota.

I'm not an expert on credit cards (only have Amex essentials).

Also, does the annual fee only get cut, next year, or immediately when I signup?
