dig a hole in the back yard
so cold these days that should be fine

    • Pretty sure they've been" thawed" once they go on the shop shelf as they come from the freezer section of a DC

      • No. They camd from chiller section.

      • It's fine.

        I've done it before.

Its vacuumed sealed and covered in sugar and sodium

Still 100 times safer than KFC made "fresh" food

        • Well under normal circumstances KFC has 100 times better value

      • When I've received deliveries for MMC they show up in a box lined with whatever they make windshield sun guards out of. There are also some freezer packs to keep it cold whilst it's being delivered. There's never a significant amount of condensation pooling at the bottom so I'd lean towards them not being frozen/thawed on the store shelf. I could be wrong as I've never worked in the DC but YouFoodz does the same thing

EDIT: Note, it says I'm associated but have never taken a delivery for Coles from MMC, it's at the store I work at that's an independent

    • Normally fine to freeze for up to a year since they are sealed, just might taste marginally different.

  • Only in north sydney?

Buy them all and freeze them, cheapest my local woolies is $6 when reduced to clear !!

  • Wow, someone must've (profanity) up an order massively for them to chuck this price on them.

    • +6

Often this price or just flat $1 at my local woolies in the throw out/short date section. I buy them all and just throw in the freezer.

      • +4

My local Woolies used to be like this… And now it's more of a flat $1 off :/

        • I don't want to pay normal or half price for this brand … Under $4 is better 😜. Never try this brand, but for $1.19 no need to think too much if I see one …

        • Pretty sure they have an algorithm to set clearance/reduced prices now and it is super stingy. I've seen different flavours at random percents off like one is 17% and the other is 38% based on how well the flavour sells and the other stuff 11 cents off a $20 thing that normally goes 1/2 off. No human would set stuff Iike that. They would rather throw stuff away than give actual discounts now.

        • That was the case at mine too. Used to drop down to $2 now they knock off a make of $3.

      • Yeah I love going to Woolies at clearance time. 90% off bargains galore.

More likely the range is being deleted. Other items in that picture are items that have been deleted at my local Coles in recent weeks.

    • is there actually such a thing as throw away section?

      • They just mean product that is going to be thrown out if people don't buy it, not that it is close to expiry.

  • All gone

  • checked my local out west, they did not stock these

    I pREfEr rAmEn

  • is it all gone?

  • +3

I spoke to a store worker. They are discounted based on use by/popularity.

Unpopular products usually go cheap, popular products are discounted but only a few dollars.

  • I got 8 last night @ $5.49. Thats the lowest they have ever been here.

PS: The 3 Coles near me don't sell MMC.

  • I highly recommend these too. For what its worth its a frozen meal that doesnt taste frozen and its pretty good calories wise. Although Im not sure how accurate the protein is.

I would have bought them all, I am not even joking

  • expire in a few hours i think
