Indeed! Both the red and black dials on a stainless steel bracelet. Both are very nice watches.

Apologies - I think you meant to correct me that I'd gotten the price incorrect in the description. I've already fixed it but thanks for pointing it out.

    Citizen Auto Yellow Dial$219 del.

  • What are people's thoughts on https://starbuy.com.au/citizen-eco-drive-mens-watch-bm8595-1…? Looking for a grab-and-go/everyday thrashing kind of watch with notiable number dials.

    • Looks fun for $200
Very affordable if it moves you

    • I like it and I don't think you'd go wrong with it. It's got Eco-drive so you won't need to change a battery as long as you give it decent light regularly, it's very legible with the white hands over the dark dial (although, the seconds hand might disappear in low light), and it has day/date complication (some folks don't like it, I personally enjoy having the date available as I do tend to use it). It's a 42mm dial so is on the large side, but it appears to have a short lug-to-lug length which helps it to wear smaller.

The only thing I'd worry about is the canvas strap - that looks like it would be rather stiff and might get a bit manky if you wear it a lot outside where it might get dirty or sweaty. Thankfully, it's a 20mm width so you'll have endless choice in finding an inexpensive replacement.

    • It's okay if the look grabs you.
Another affordable ($169 delivered) eco-drive candidate, and my personal preference is the AW5000-24E.
Starbuy don't have it atm, but another place does, at the price I've indicated. I won't piss on the deal by cross-linking though ;)

Got the Seiko Presage SRPJ21J in a previous sale for same price.

    Very nice for the price.

Is my beater on work trips now and dresses up or down seamlessly.

    • Looks great I would be tempted to upgrade the crystal with sapphire

      • That would void the 3 year warranty though.

      • Never really had any issues with Presage Ice Blue Cocktail Time that I've had for years, so not too concerned.

As mentioned in previous sale thread, like the sightly smaller dial of the Blue Curacao v Ice Blue, as sits a bit easier under a cuff and is a tilt to more classic, smaller dial feel that I prefer to current massive dial trend.

      • Got the Tsuyosa for the sapphire crystal :-) (see below).

  • Citizen Tsuyosa NJ0151-88L cheapest it's been by $10 @$319.

    https://starbuy.com.au/citizen-tsuyosa-mens-automatic-watch-…

Couldn't walk past it this time :-).

The Tsuyosa NJ0151-53W Blade Rainbow dial was temping, but would want to see it in the wild before committing and few videos out there online don't really give you much of a feel.

Bausele Kimberley on beige strap also looks like it would be stunning, but even at discount find it hard to justify this much on a micro brand with drop in Miyota movement, given all the value in decently finished homages using similar movements on Aliexpress :-).

      I have the NJ0151-53W, it's very nice

        Thanks for the feedback.

If not $70 more than the NJ0151-88L might have considered it this time, but more than happy to try a Tsuyosa with a not so plain dial for $319.

NJ0151-88L would be my second pick with the textured dial, however, I'd personally pay more for the NJ0151-53W.

Can't go wrong with either really

    • that Kimberley has such a nice looking face and dial combo imo. The colour is amazing. damm if it was abit cheaper i'd be quite tempted.

    • Had the Citizen Tsuyosa NJ0151-88L on my wrist for a few days now.

Was initially a bit underwhelmed with the textured dial, but probably just gloominess of the season that was causing that. As soon as I had it outdoors under some sunshine (even Winter type) it really popped. Gold borders with cream interior of hands and markers, really nice contrast that just underlines the nuance of the textured blue dial very well.

Once I took one more link off the 6-o'clock end than the 12 o'clock end of the band to make it slightly asymmetrical lean toward the 6 o'clock, then it sits well on my wrist, with nice integration under sleeves even though at first looks a bit on the chunkier side with the close to 12mm thickness.

Like the look of the SS band with the shiny centre and contrasting more matte look on the outside edges. Solid, but a few sharper edges than I was expecting. Hasn't been an arm hair puller yet, that I was half expecting given the design.

Running about 12-15 seconds fast, which is about par for the course for similar Japanese movements (Seiko or Miyota) I've acquired in the last year or two. If it's going to be out by much then prefer it runs fast. For a low maintenance automatic movement that should just last and last, this is pretty decent and not worth the effort of calibrating for questionable further accuracy gains.

Overall, would I buy it again at $319?

      For sure!

The Citizen Promaster auto 41mm divers NY0120-01X, NY0120-01E, NY0129-07L etc look great for $219-299

    My pick is https://starbuy.com.au/meistersinger-astroscope-mens-watch-s…

And this, which I think is atl. I paid $800 on release: https://starbuy.com.au/seiko-speedtimer-mens-chronograph-wat…
Edit: also this with cal. 9051, titanium, sapphire and on-the-fly clasp. I paid around $750-800 https://starbuy.com.au/citizen-automatic-mens-watch-nb6004-8…

    • Citizen 46mm, doubles as emergency dam plug

      • That thing is built like a tank

  • I have that cheapest watch Citizen Eco-Drive 43.5mm BM7450-81L. I like the colour and the style. This was my first watch bought from this store as well (thanks ozb).

When I was around Circular Quay, Sydney, someone said I have lucky face. I had all Blue appearance from the Citizen watch, blue polo Tommy Hilfiger, blue jeans, and blue Nike shoes 👟. I think he tried to sell lucky papers but I refused and walked away.

  • Reading all the comments, now I understand why inflation refused to go down lol… Joke aside, not a watch person but I'm tempted now…

  • A comment on this Relative Time video warns that the Hi-Beat quartz movement isn't necessarily more accurate. Also the battery life may be worse. So maybe just treat the Hi-Beat as a cosmetic feature.
