[QLD] Holman BT Smart Garden Lights: Festoon 12 Light $24.99, 2x Floodlight $24.99 + More in-Store @ Bunnings, Mt Gravatt

130

Happened to pass by this bunnings while on the way back from a client meeting and decided to pop in for some last minute buys for tax time -

Spotted this range of Holman bluetooth control colour changing smart light garden lights on an end cap next to wheelbarrow aisle of the Mt Gravatt bunnings. They dont seem to be listed on the bunnings website anymore but they do show up in the NRBY.in stock checker - so ymmv with other bunnings.

eg https://nrby.in/bunnings/0530574 - for the 12 bulb festoon kit.

12 bulb festoon 11m colour change kit - $24.99 was $35.70 sku 0530574
2 pack colour change ground light - $37.71, was $55.30 sku 0530579
2 pack colour change floodlight - $24.99 - was $35.70 sku 0530576
9 pack colour change value pack spikes - $29.40 was $42 (these are <0.5w ea) sku 0530580
4 pack spikes colour change - $29.40 was $42 sku 0530575

There is a heap of stock , at least 10 ea for everything pictured, except the 2 pack floods which I counted 7.

My pick of the lot is the colour change floodlights, and maybe the festoon lights.

I didnt open the boxes to inspect contents but from the layout diagram on back of box I suspect power supply and controller module is rolled into 1.
You will need a power point to plug into, but after that its all 12v low voltage.

I hate this design as if this unit goes, afaik there is no replacement (at least that I could see on the bunnings website).
It also makes expanding the system a bit of a pain if not impossible.

The price is right though!

+1 for the write up. Wish I had more available power points to put in some colour changing flood lights, would make a cool entrance

Keep an eye out too for the Wiz Bar Light 2 pack on clearance. I scored some for $20 couple weeks ago.

  • I got festoon for $10 and Spotlight for $5 😊

    • Living the dream brah - here I am considering loading up on the floodlights at $24.99 like there isnt a cost of living crisis. Was going to see if I could re-roll them into a tuya wifi controlled solution instead.

      Which store can I ask?

Unfortunately it's bit of a lucky dip what extra markdowns are available on clearance/deleted/deranged lines.

Thanks, got a few of the floodlights. The Bluetooth is built into each light, and they run off 12v, so I plan to wire them up for camping lights as well as lights on the ute canopy and in the tinny. At $12.50 per light they're a steal for a dimmable light that can be changed to a colour that doesn't attract the bugs!

    • Oh? Nice!
I don’t think that’s what the diagram notated - though I didn’t look at it that close (thought I remember seeing the bt symbol on the transformer part).

I haven't cut the cables yet, but I changed one floodlight to red in the app, then plugged it into a transformer from another box and it stayed the same colour, so the ESP32 or whatever is storing the data is inside the light casing. Also each light appears as a separate BT device, so I'm 99% sure that wiring up each light individually with a 12v supply should work.

Can't get them to talk to HA via BT, and the lights aren't even visible via BT when in pairing mode, except when using the Tuya (or Holman) app.

          Interesting

Was there much left when you went

I might grab a set and have a go at rolling it into my 12v garden / security circuit

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Just one box remaining at 10am.

Alex hills and the city store have a few, but may not be as cheap. They were $35 at Underwood.

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Thanks again for posting these lights. I've installed 4 of the floodlights, 2 ground lights and a string of festoon lights at a shack that we're building, and they work great on the 12v solar/battery system. Under $100 all up for everything, and all lights except the festoon lights can be controlled really easily via Bluetooth. Have 4 more flood lights to wire up as lighting for the utes camp kitchen and also a couple of portable lights for the tinny.

Now what can I do with the 5 left over 240v to 12v IP67 transformers?

Edit: PS - Bethania had the ground lights for $30.01/box

            • @frugalferret: Nice mate I went back a few times but yeah no stock of the floods. I ended up going 24vdc floods and spots because I wanted it controlled with remote instead of app.

              Sell on gumtree maybe

    2 pack colour change ground light - $37.71, was $55.30 sku 0530579

This was $19 at my local store. Down from $25.

    • Thanks for checking and updating

Looks like could be worth visiting some Bunnings today/tmr

Yep might be worth it then. I'm tempted to.
