Yeah, but this is Samsung. I heard the TCL OS lags.
OS is meaningless these days, just use a fire stick, shield, chrome cast etc.
Thats what I wanted to avoid. Having purchase a separate device and then install.
@mhc: Worth having one in general, always cheap deals for them and they're great for taking to hotels. Piss easy to setup.
@mhc: Just an FYI, the Samsung uses its own Tizen OS which you can't sideload anything with, the TCL on the other hand comes with Google TV. The TCL OS does glitch out often though, not turning on/off, can't connect to wifi, laggy, etc. but the TCL is a few years old. On the other hand, the Samsung 85QN85C glitches with my Samsung soundbar often and won't turn it on. Another reason why i think i'll be going Sony for my next TV.
@Spec: Yeah! but Sony is expensive af. The same options in TCL if you look for in SONY, you have to pay through the teeth. e.g. Bravia 9
@mhc: agreed, but as i said, just an FYI that the Samsung uses tizen and truthfully am not a big fan of especially after using Google TV for quite a number of years. if you're happy with it then great. Adding another device and having to switch between remotes is a pain though.
@Spec: That TCL TV you're talking about may be faulty.
I'm having none of those issues from Google TV on my TCL C645 43" TV.
@hollykryten: problem is, it's not repeatable and only happens randomly so i can never really catch it and try and claim warranty. a restart will make it work fine again.
I'm with mhc. Much easier to just have the TV OS work, then makes soundbars etc less fiddly to sort out.
Do Samsung still not support Dolby Vision?
Of course they believe HDR10+ can conquer the land of Dolby vision's 🙄
I got tcl 85c855 and didn't find any lag.
I had a chance to compare side by side between qn85 and C855, they were 75inches though.
Both were looking great in the commercial display setting. Qn85 was slightly brighter.
No chance to control the O/S myself.
Expensive when compared to TCL C855 deal going on atm
