That's what lead me to research other alternatives and consider this brand. I looked at the Dyson but couldn't stomach $400+ for a hair dryer.

What was conclusion of ur research? Comparable to dyson?
Seen some reviews that argue it's better for a certain hair-type for the person I'm buying for.
I have this Shark and a Dyson Airwrap (not the Dyson dryer if that’s what you want to compare with?)
As a hairdryer I would say the Shark is more powerful and effective but the Dyson styling tools are MUCH better.
If you want the Shark for styling then I’d go the Flexstyer instead as it is far more versatile and good value.
@EBG: Good to know. Most reviews had the Dyson Supersonic slightly in front of the Shark for various reasons. But given the current price difference, I seriously doubt it's twice as good.
