I know this is OzBargain, but I'm sure we have a few watch peeps in here.
If so, what brand(s)? Specify the model if you want to. And maybe why you bought it.
A random watch lux pyramid tier l found off a quick google search.

Nothing fancy - Seiko Chrono Quartz (first "real" watch, bought in high school), Bulova Quartz, and a Citizen Auto
I got deep into watches a while back as it was a time in my life where i was earning enough to do it and i was too dumb to invest in property lol
Currently daily a Rolex sub (pre ceramic) and an older quartz Omega Seamaster (Bond). I vividly remember the Omega from Golden eye being the watch that got my attention as a child. Also have an IWC chrono for a milestone birthday, a limited ed Omega moonwatch and a Tag Monaco for my sons birthyear watch. I also have some nice seiko and casio's which i love to wear as well.
I do not even own a watch. I been thinking of getting an Apple Watch. It remains in my thought
I don’t own anything beyond the second tier. Like others have said, I’d be overly conscious of wearing $10K+ on my arm, fearing someone else would want to take my arm more than me. That’s one of the reasons I’m into microbrands these days - you can get a really well made, attractive watch that has a reliable movement for not a lot of money and which in unlikely to be attracting the kind of attention you’d want to avoid.
Unless you're in London or San Fran, you're fine. I daily a $10k watch in Sydney.
Also unless it's a highly identifiable Rolex, thieves won't target you. I can't even recall a case where someone had their watch stolen in public in Sydney anytime recently.
People wear much more "stealable" stuff like LV handbags etc anyway, and they're fine.
100%! I had a few for a while. great conversation pieces.
And it's definitely a "if you know you know" when you run into someone.
