Agree… I thought the price of plans would decrease… Especially if not 5G
wife is currently on coles mobile which was 120 for a year a year ago. Think its 160 now or whatever for their comparable plan (on sale!) That's a pretty big price jack for one year.
So the$120 will stay for her?
Yeah that's right. The email they send contains the following:
We recently introduced new plans to the Coles Mobile family, and at the same time, we said goodbye to some of our older ones. As part of this change, you might notice your current plan is no longer being offered to new customers.
We’re just letting you know that the current changes don’t affect your plan. You can continue to recharge as you normally would, and keep enjoying your great plan inclusions.
So i mean, that's fine, but of course you are kinda locked in. What's worse is i need international call/SMS included (which they are) so the options are very limited atm. As someone said above, i dont get why yearly plans have gotten so much dearer in the last year or so.
@Iggemo: Because Coles and Woolies are price gouging.
Telcos are cutting back on the inclusions in the plans also like removing international calls & cap on texts it's getting ridiculous.
What? I wasn't aware of this. Which telco, and which plan, any examples?
At least for Coles Mobile, I see unlimited international calls and text to 15 countries for both annual plans.Ww have made international calls a addon .boost give 1200 sms OS it was unlimited kogan have dropped international calls .
Yeah he's right. See my comment just above too. My wife needs international calls and SMS to USA (where her family is) and when i got her the yearly plan a year ago u had several options. $120 at the time was not cheap, in fact i thought it was a bit of a rip-job tbh since my own plan (without international) was only $60 with Amaysim. But move forward 12 months to today and basically no one offers international for less than 180 or whatever now. Catch has this crappy $5 add-on but it only lasts a month so effectively it's $60 extra a year. Captain Spock is right, these scumbags are removing things and charging more, seems like more greedflation from these scummy mcscumbags.
@Iggemo: Yes, I agree. For new sim starter packs that include international calls, I think now these are the most viable options:
- Coles Mobile $159 annual plan is the cheapest.
- Lebara Small Plan Annual for $200, currently not on offer, but they do a $149 sometimes
I knew these packs were going to get quite expensive, so I stuck to the popular Woolworths exclusive Amaysim $99 annual plan (RRP $119), and I get 25% off offered yearly, getting it down to $89.25 for a year. This includes international calls to 28 countries.
@Iggemo: Why not just use whatsapp instead?
@aligind4h0us3: You mean for internationals? It's to keep contact with her elderly relatives too man, i dont think it's a simple thing to have them install apps and the like..
ColesWorth greed.
Optus, rubbish network.
Coles customers treated as second class citizens on the same network. You can never really get a cell slot on a crowded tower.
I regret even getting the 365day plan. Thank god I got 2 months left, then I'm bailing. Be warned, its cheap for a reason.
Where will you be going ?
I think boost is the only option.
Yeah I left boost mobile and returning there shortly. I've had catch and coles mobile (both on the optus network) and they have been garbage.
Thanks for the heads-up I was going to grab it ,but now who ?
Err, these are becoming costlier by the day.
