    Quick summary:

    • Battery is very small at 39whr
    • There seems to be 2 versions of the screen, a 360nit and a 250nit panel. Expect the 250nit one in this unit.
    • Chassis is very flimsy, though that is to be expected at this price range
    • RAM is soldered, SSD is upgradeable

Recommend spending a little more on this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/852465
Otherwise, grab the ryzen if possible. That will at least give you a little more battery life.

    • Ram soldered but surely 16GB is enough?

      • Not for some strategy games

    • Still 16gb in the other deal :(

    $700 to $950 is not "a little more"…..

  • No deal when Ryze 5 is for the same money.

A used 5xxx ryzen 5 elitebook or ThinkPad will most likely last longer.

    • But that's for a completely different item. Used business grade device. A lot of people prefer new.

To be fair, if you have a used Ryzen 5xxx laptop for about $500, that's probably worth a separate post!

      • Comes up all the time on eBay. Not a "refurb" unit from a reseller.

        Last I saw a new Elitebook G8 R7 5800U for $650.

Some of the used ones prob gotore warranty left than this thing (3 years is not uncommon).

Well, the same machine with R5 here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/851863
