    44c each isn’t really cheap

  • What is activblu technology

  • Is this worth the price over Aldi tablets?

    • +2

Choice gives these a 73%, and gives the Aldi a 79%.

      • Yes, that was for the Aldi Logix Platinum but I don't think they are being sold anymore .

        • Agreed, the new Aldi ones leave a bad smell on plastic

        • Platinum tablets have changed to liquid pods.

    • Aldi ones are good??

      • +1

yes. 27c a pop too and are made in AU.

  • I wouldn’t recommend buying cleaning products from them. The Dettol wipes and dishwashing tablets I bought all have a very short shelf life of a few months.

    Obligatory Technology Connection Video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHP942Livy0

TLDR: Just use the cheapest powder you can find, it will probably work fine and be way cheaper than tablets. That said, I use these Finish tablets - 110 pack for $18 and they work perfectly:

Ive always used the cheapest tablets and I cant tell any difference

    • +1

Agreed. That video was a game changer.

That said, those tablets used to be $12 just a few years ago. Insane that they're 50% more

  • 48c each at woolies with 1/7th of the plastic waste from all the bags…..

  • Just use the powder. I use Aldi brand at about $4 and it works fine

  • Using powder from Aldi is the best value

I've been very happy with the Exonic dishwasher powder purchased from Bunnings as well - $3.90 per 1kg

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/exonic-1kg-dish-washing-powder_p…

    https://media.prod.bunnings.com.au/api/public/content/15ddd6…

Going to give the Aldi Logix dishwasher powder a try next to see what it's like - they all seem to contain roughly the same ingredients.

    • Saw exonic at Bunnings the other day was impressed by the price. I wonder if they are Aldi's manufacturer?

      • Maybe, both bottles say 'made in Australia', couldn't be too many dishwasher powder manufacturers here in Australia. I think the Aldi powder was a little bit more expensive - maybe $4 for 1kg lol.

I'm refilling a Miele power disk (basically an inbuilt storage container and the machine doses itself) on average 400 grams of powder is lasting 20 washes - so $0.078 cents per wash for powder is pretty good.

since that tech connections video i've been trialling using the "shine dishwasher powder" from woolies, turns out to be the same price as the exonic dish washing powder. very happy with the results.

So i guess $3.90 per kg is the price to beat.

I might go into a woolies to trial a woolies branded one, but as i get delivered i don't think i can get woolies branded ones.
Keen to see what your results from the Aldi Logix one is.

      • +1

Will definitely come back and update my views on the Aldi Logix powder after I've given it a reasonable trial with all types of food my dishwasher usually encounters.

Good thing I don't put too much stock into the reviews on Product review. lol

      • Interestingly I saw the shine dishwasher powder for sale at Big W this evening, Big W (at least my local store) are selling it for $4.

I note that the Shine powder Woolies are selling says "New improved formula" on the pack but I don't recall seeing that on the Shine powder Big W were selling - wonder which formulation is better?

        • It wouldn't surprise me if there is no functional difference.

Anybody else here watch the technology connections video a week and a half ago and are now switching to powder? Its certainly cheaper.

    • Yeah I saw this and it has convinced me to give the powder a go.

      • +2

I've been trialling it since the video came out. the trial is a huge success.

To convince my partner who was very resistant to this (who very much prefer named brand of everything and didn't like the idea of using "cheap powder"). I held an experiment and ran multiple washes, some with branded tablets that we already have, and some with the powder, however i wouldn't tell which one we did.

End result, the one they thought was the "better" result with the branded tablets was actually the powder.

        • Thank you. I'll be doing the same.
