  • "do not chainball you to Steam/Origin etc."

    …. but can they be?

    FYI some excellent games:
    Torchlight, Trine, Darwinia/Multiwinia, Alan Wake

    And if you ENJOY programming:
    Spacechem

    • It doesn't give you a steam key, I presume. Why bother though? DRM free means no restrictions to number of simultaneous users.

Yeah, Alan Wake is definitely worth getting, so is Trine and Botanicula. I dunno about the others — puzzle games ain't my forte.

      • I only buy games on steam as it gives me something to collect. Most of the time when we have bundles etc I just get them to add to my steam games count and never actually play them. I know it sounds wasteful/stupid, but i enjoy collecting them, plus if ever I need I know exactly where all my games are. Just my reason for always being curious if it's redeemable on steam.

        • I know what you mean, STEAM brings out the hoarder in me…

    • +1

On Steam, you can make it appear to be. Once you install the game on your computer you can then make them appear in your Steam library by clicking "+Add a Game" on the bottom left of the Steam client then "Add a Non-Steam Game" then finding the game on the list and adding it.

It's basically a just shortcut on your Steam client to the game but it's still good for keeping everything sorted and in one place. :)

    • You can't use it on Steam but GOG do offer extras like game manuals, sound tracks, hint books, no drm, etc. so generally I use steam for new games and GOG for good old games (like games released before 2000)

  • To The Moon :D game is amazing, shame it dosnt come with the soundtracks :(

    Thanks OP

    • Am thinking of getting that game myself. Shame about the soundtrack. Have actually been purchasing / repurchasing games on recent bundles purely because they have accompanying soundtrack(s).

  • I cannot recommend To the Moon highly enough.
