  • Does anyone know if you can partially pay for these using FlyBuys points converted to $10 off spend? Doesn't seem like you SHOULD be able to, but you never know how the system is setup.

    • +2
      • Thank you sir.

    • Which were you talking about?

      • Converting Flybuys points into Flybuys Dollars, then swiping the physical Flybuys card on the EFTPOS terminal.

      • Redeeming 2000 Flybuys points for an instant $10 discount at Coles (for Flybuys members).

      • Redeeming 2000 Flybuys points for an instant $10 discount at Coles (for Coles Financial Services customers).

OP only gave you the answer to the first option.

      • The 2nd is what I was thinking. I assume this is a new feature like how Woolies auto converts points.

        • woolworths don’t allow such points redemption for gift cards either?

        • +2

          For feature #2:

          • The terms and conditions of the Flybuys instant $10 offer says it cannot be redeemed when you are purchasing a gift card.

          • I have on multiple occasions scanned my Flybuys card and had the instant $10 offer switched on my account, but the pop up for redeeming the instant $10 offer never appeared on the checkout screen.

  • Better than the bonus points offer for cafe choice at Woolworths. I should’ve just bought 1 instead of 3. 🤣

    • If you redeem for intl long haul business class, thats better.

  • Slightly off topic but I have a couple of the digital ones still in my Google Pay wallet but I have no idea how much is left on them (won't be more than $5 each)

Any way to check by logging in somewhere? I don't have the original emails for the purchases any more so struggling to get into what I think the site is to check.

  • Minimum load is $50.

  • does anyone have issues adding this card to apple wallet? didnt have any issue for 2 years, then suddenly cant add any cards by blackhawk.
it says invalid information despite entering the correct details.

      • glad im not the only one. contacted blackhawk multiple times and they kept insisting that its apple's fault.

now stuck with 1k worth of restaurant cards and $200 of 711.

It sounds like you have failed the fraud checks that Apple does when you attempt to add a new payment card. Apple apparently shares the fraud check information done by Apple with both Blackhawk Network and Visa, and I am not 100% sure which party has decided to stop you from adding a payment card to Apple Pay. You can read more about these fraud checks on Apple Pay’s privacy policy..

I myself ran into an issue once where I tried to add 6x Ultimate gift cards onto the same Apple Pay wallet within the space a few hours; 5 of them were able to be added, but the 6th card kept on returning an Invalid Card error after I accepted the Blackhawk Network Apple Pay terms and conditions. The error did not go away until the next day.

Btw, tonester previously shared a comment that sheds some light on this issue.

@WookieMonster: thanks. this is the response i got from blackhawk. it only happened after i added 1 711 gift card. however, i got another 2 blackhawk gift cards active on my wallet.

            more (unhelpful) responses:

Some cardholders have found success by attempting to add the gift card to a different device's mobile wallet and ensuring that the details entered match those used during gift card registration.

It appears that there is an issue with certain gift cards not being accepted by mobile wallets. We are currently collaborating with the wallet provider to address this problem.

    • I got apple watch for extra apple wallet. If I can't add to my phone, I'll add to my watch.
After one week or two, I can somehow add to my phone again

      • ive been trying to add them daily for the past 3 days. i'll wait for 10-14 days now and report back. hopefully it works. thanks

        • I take it you haven't had any luck? I'm stuck too, same as you.

  • nice… no more paying full price for fortune tellers!

  • Loved this card, helps with dining out. But since it changes to Visa (instead of old eftpos), some places have surcharges for Visa/MasterCard.
Any way to avoid or remove this surcharge?

For Perth peeps, what are best places to use this now on Visa?

    • Is this accepted every restaurant in Perth?

    • some places don't charge if you present the physical card instead of tapping. I found this at Meat and Wine Co….if using the actual card they treat it like a gift card, if you tap, then they charge the fee

  • Can I use Westfield EFTPOS GC to pay for this?

    • yes, but staff will look at you, if you want to split into five $100 Westfield EFTPOS GC

  • Great

  • Can you split payment when you buy gift cards using shopback supermarket gift cards?

    • +4

You need to go to a standard checkout (i.e. a checkout operated by a dedicated staff member) to do split payments when purchasing a gift card at Coles. However, split payments are only allowed if the staff member at the checkout permits this (and knows how to do this).

If you try to do split payments between multiple payment cards (e.g. multiple ShopBack Supermarket Visa gift cards) at a self checkout, you will trigger error messages, and the self checkout assistant cannot get around these error messages.

  • Can you pay for hotel stays?

  • Weren't these 15% off at one point? Or was that another restaurant card?

  • Is there any difference between the physical card and digital card? Would I be able to add this to my iPhone Wallet?

  • Can it be used at the restaurants in Sydney Crown hotel?

    • should have no issues, but nothing is guaranteed in life

  • Has anyone tried to use this card at kids play centres such as Lollipop's or Crocs? Wonder if that would fall into the catering or amusement mcc

  • Confirming split payment is okay from manned registers

Has anyone tried using Vanilla Mastercard to purchase these?

    • +2

You can use that to buy a shopback supermarket gift card and use the gift card to purchase these. You will get an additional 2% cashback by doing that.

      • It’s very nice of them

  • How do you use the left over small amounts with this card? TIA!

  • Thanks helped bring lunch down at Fat Cow for my birthday today !!

      Happy birthday 🎊

You shouldn't have to pay for your birthday meal though? Should be redeeming all birthday freebies available
