It was cheaper only a couple months ago

But none the less its a great watch.

I enjoy wearing this and my A158W more than my high end watches

I just watched Jody's review of the MRW-210 and laughed almost the entire way through. Now I want one of those! :-D

      • wow that's one goodlooking watch 🤤

    • I don't. Too many other better ones to choose from. Have always been tempted to get one anyway though, pretty much a cult classic.

They are cheap fun though and great beaters. The AE1200 is good too.

@Chazzozz saw that one lol. It looks massive, the smaller version would be alright, looks and feels cheap no doubt.

Nice, I'm currently rocking an F91W face on both my Pebble Time Steel and GW4, but it just ain't the same. I'm thinking though given my failing near sight, I might be leaning more towards the Skmei 2024 for it's larger size.

      Link please?

be careful of the ones on ebay. i got one a while ago and its a clone and total trash.

      • Does eBay allow sellers to sell fakes if they don't state it's a genuine Casio?

        • +2

Does eBay allow care if sellers to sell fakes if they don't state it's a genuine Casio?

There, I fixed it for you.

        • +1

Lol, you haven't used eBay much I take it?

Counterfeit/fake goods of all kinds have been sold on eBay since its inception and all of the sellers peddling that sh*t still have 99.9% ratings and almost never get taken down.

Watches are one of the most commonly-counterfeited categories of products on eBay, so as a general rule, sellers from China/Hong Kong selling watches for too-good-to-be-true prices are almost guaranteed to be selling fakes.

    • +2

I can almost guarantee that it will be a fake

These watches are so cheap there's no excuse to not buy one from a reputable seller.

    • Definitely fakes it’s just people are too clueless to know if it’s genuine

      • Any clues to share / spot fake ones pls ?

        • Any clues

Price is too good to be true

You can't go off listing photos unfortunately, because the seller might be using photos of a genuine watch

TBH I would personally rather pay an extra $1.66 and buy one from Amazon AU, just because I don't know much about Monster Trading Store

          Here's an article comparing a genuine F91W to a fake: https://www.burningimage.net/genuine-and-fake-casio-f91w/

          • @beltdrive: Cheers

          • @beltdrive: So if the one from Amazon doesn't have the little 'U' in the bottom right and has mould lines on the strap, does that mean it's fake?

            • @thinkv: The Casio site doesn't have the little 'U' either. I admit it can get confusing

May not be legit, probably the most copied watch of Casios. For these cheapies I trust Amazon (free no-questions asked returns at least)!

Do the LCD display test, check the case back (should say made in China or Thailand), check the screws against internet pics (can be undone with flathead or Philips head screwdriver). Also the fake ones can lose a lot of time.

I keep mine in the plastic case and use it as a bench clock at my workstation. xD

  • Casio AE1200 is also $44.19, they were getting a bit expensive for what they are

    https://amzn.asia/d/03fqLRcr

    • I Disagree.

Compared to say, a Rolex which costs $10-15k minimum, the Casio has a stop watch, 100m water resistance , Alarm, light, 10 year battery life and can most likely take a better beating than most watches.

So for $44 i think its a pretty fair price.

      • +1

Yes I've got one, and they are a lot of watch and a cult classic. I paid $29 but I am saying they they were $50-60 on Amazon recently so $44 is reasonable.

        Yep yep 👍

        • +1

          Fair point

Even at $50-60 is not bad. But because we are on OZB we tend to like to wait for a better price.

  • Has anyone replaced the stock strap with an 18mm nato? I don't think you need an adaptor?

Don't really like the way it sits, cheers
