Winners Energy Gels for endurance sports.
45 gels for $60
Website says long expiry (2026) so that's even better.

Haven't seen gels cheaper anywhere recently (for Winners Gels or any other brands eg Gu, SIS, High5)

Are half price at Woolies and Coles on the reg. (4 for $4.25) which is a bit cheaper but more flavors here and a good fuel bin filler for runners and cyclists, etc. I guess.

Can someone explain the economics on why buying directly from the brand costs more, not just for this example but for others?

Winners website with no-sale $135 for 45 = $3.00 per item, or $3.33 with shipping.
Winners website with sale on now becomes $60 for 45 = $1.33 or $1.66 with shipping.

Whereas Woolworths is cheaper and provides the benefit of buying in smaller quantities.
Woolworths with no sale is $8.50 for 4 = $2.125 per item
Woolworths current sale $5.90 for 4 = $1.475 per item
      Woolworths if there is a 50% off $4.20 for 4 = $1.0625 per item

  • Pretty good for raving too.

Maybe he lost and was no longer a winner.

Not sure why the down vote, this is legit. Started doing this last year.

  • I make my own with glucose, honey and powder Powerade

    • How do you carry it on you when you're on the bike or jogging? Or are you just mixing it into your water bottle?

      • Supermarkets, they frequently go 1/2 price. I bought a gel soft flask from Amazon. I use it for my long runs. You'll have to play around to get the right ratio of the ingredients (check Reddit). I've yet to get the thickening agent right.

Are you meant to eat this, rub the gel or stuff it up somewhere?

  • Up your clacker works best.

    • goes straight to the bloodstream

      • erm.. check your anatomy diagram, the clacker is not part of the vascular system

        • That would depend on how hard you're shoving it up your clacker….

  • Can anyone recommend a good flavour?

    Cheers

    • lemon lime is good

winners gels are a bit strong in taste, there are no good flavours IMHO

  • need to add something else to cart to qualify for free shipping.

Helps slip on the lyrca at the crack of dawn

  • Shipping kills this unfortunately.

  • I think free shipping kicks in at about $70, so just buy 90 gels or grab a pack of winners bars with the order. The sticky date pudding ones go alright.
