@mrdeal13: But I want my boots to make me feel special.
@SnakeCasablanca: For >400 on sale id hope these do more than that!
@mrdeal13: I think if i cared "so much" about what others think, id probably be getting the boots.
@Hermsh: or you could be the person to break the monotony. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxcjjNtccPE
IT bro
I would say more IT Bro's wear them then you think!
@serpserpserp: Oh definitely, it's infiltrated IT bro circles too!
Get sized properly. If they aren't comfortable then you'll be in a losing battle if hoping you'll "break them in".
It’s horrible. I have all the same size and they’re still different.
Thanks OP, used a gift card I had lying around and got them for $211 - hard not to be happy with that 👍🏼
So these are the new Eneloops now?
No wonder there's a cost of living crisis.Millennial here, told my father about Ozbargain (he a boomer), he looked at it twice and said the 'deals' on Ozbargain are so silly, he rightfully (in my opinion) said our generation are nutjobs for spending $1.3k on a vacuum, he is still rocking his Target vacuum from 20 years ago bought for $40. His major comment that got me reflecting on spending habits was the pram I was looking at for my son, i grew up on a $50 kmart pram and I turned out ok, today you're looking at $1.6k for a Uppavista and people are willingly justifying the silly expense.
As for these shoes, i have a pair, don't wear them as much as I work in IT, prefer comfy shoes, they do last a long time compared to a $100 pair of hush puppies or whatever.
My parents are the opposite. They were going to get a Dyson and I told them to hold off and let me see if I can find a deal on it. I showed them a video of a youtuber that pitted vacuums against each other (I think the channel was Vacuum wars, but I watched others too) and decided on the Laresar Ultra 7 for just under $200 and they're really happy with it.

I thought the general consensus here was that Dyson vacuums are poor value for money.
Rivers sells similar boots 'Rivers Xain Good Year Welt Slip On Boot' for $75.
The Recession RMs
Good Year Welt boots last for >10 years https://www.rivers.com.au/search/?q=welt+boot&lang=en_AU
What a rip-off! You can get similar looking Anko boots at Kmart for less than $100
That won't last 6 months. My RM's are still going after 15 years.
replace it once every 6 month :)
Couldn't have asked for a better example of the Vimes Booth Theory than what you just suggested.

I bought a pair of comfort craftman's over 5 years ago but not as cheap as these :(. Prior to this I was buying Florsheims (3 pairs every 2 years as they wore out and started looking tatty.)
I bought the polish and conditioner as well and the boots still look in very good condition.
They are very comfy and incredibly robust. Initially they seemed a litttle heavy but once on they are fine :)Can I buy these from Iconic and exchange for my size at an RM store, unfortunately they dont have half sizes?
As long as return shipping is free, I will just try my luck.
Of course you can't. You bought them from Iconic, not RM.
When you buy Nike from Myer do you expect to go to the Nike store to exchange them?
Because people have said in previous threads that you can buy from Iconic and exchange at RM in the past. I was wondering if that was still the case?
People have also said in previous threads that you can't.
@serpserpserp: Ok which is why I was asking. Clearly its not an 'Of course you can't' situation if some people said they can and others said they can't.
@WinstonWithAY: Read the thread. They clearly say this is a no no but people have somehow got lucky.
The policy is no.
Got mine they r very nice
I followed someone else's recommendation and looked up Mongrel Boots on ebay.
Real leather, made in Australia, and picked up 'factory seconds' for about $85. No idea how well they compare, but it's a cheap alternative that isn't Anko or Rivers.
Do you have the link? Did you grab the 805
Premium Riding Boot?
Anyone know which boot polish colour to get for these?
FWIW, my pair just arrived, and it almost looks entirely black. Sure, the gusset is dark brown but it's dark and doesn't really clash with the black parts of the shoes in my view.
Good to hear
They do look great in real life. Glad I pulled the trigger on them.
Oh no 30% off now

Did you cave or resist the Dan Andrews black puffer jacket fad?
