  • Does it require Log Pass?

    • No, this is for every one!!

    • I've got Bog Pass, does that make the deal better?

  • Sounds like a good deal. I guess we need to wait for more info. Is these going to be available in all States & Territories?

    • I am in Sydney and I received via update @ newsletter /email .

      • +2

Hopefully it will be available in SA. We are not a NRL State, so we might be excluded from the promotion.

  • Does anyone know roughly when this will be?

  • Highly competitive pricing, I feel

  • +9

From the T&C's potentially you could get 5 Original Crispy Burgers for $15.95 delivered (5x $1 burgers + $8.95 delivery fee + $2 service fee)

    • +1

I wonder if pickup will be possible

      • +4

KFC doesn't offer pick up through third party apps.

    • +1

The deal is available during half time, and there are five games during the offer period. I theorise that it may be “up to five per customer”, but only one per order/one per half time

      • +1

This is what I am wondering too. It may not be able to get 5 per one order. But 1 per order 5x which makes it not really worthwhile

        • +1

I was wrong. Just ordered five burgers for $15.95 including delivery. A much better deal than usual for Menulog.

          • +1

@Sven Viking: Yeah it worked for me too. Except the delivery time keeps getting pushed back and it says it's being prepared..hopefully it does. I hate the KFC I picked. Should have tried to get another store. This store has the worst people working there. almost every order has been wrong with them.

            • +3

@lonewolf: I’ve been avoiding ordering from Menulog because they once never showed up or contacted me, and when I contacted support within minutes of the car going past on the GPS tracker they flatly refused to either deliver or refund. The burgers were successfully delivered in this case, though.

              • +1

@Sven Viking: Over the past year I have had Menulog cancel orders after the item was meant to arrive. Due to no drivers or driver cancelling. Used to happen to me at night so maybe they are better during the daytime.

  • +2

Are these actually any different to the original burger?

    • +10

Yes. They are basically a zinger burger fillet WITHOUT any flavour. They are pretty shit. The batter tastes floury without any seasoning on it. I'm surprised they didn't put the same "original recipe" seasoning into the batter.

      The "original" was way better.

      • +2

Exactly this - they have a garlicly smell when raw, but they taste like nothing.

The batter tastes floury without any seasoning on it

Exactly what it is, a zinger without marinade.

  • +3

Hopefully this will turn out better than the last $1 KFC burger deal:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/784605

  • +5

I don't understand. Please correct me if I'm wrong but if there's no pickup then this is a $10 burger?

    • +3

Depends on how many you get

    • +6

      $1 (Max 5 Per Customer) + $8.95 Delivery Fee

      1 burger = $9.95
      2 burgers = $10.95
      3 burgers = $11.95

      Etc

      • +3

Meh, i wouldn’t say these burgers are worth that much, especially via menulog

      • +1

The deal is only available during half time, and there are five games during the offer period. I theorise that it may be “up to five per customer”, but only one per order (or one per half time), which would be more in line with Menulog’s usual deals.

        • Glad to say I was wrong about this. Just ordered five burgers for $15.95 including delivery. A much better deal than usual for Menulog.

  • +1

May the odds be in your favour and I mean just to get one!

  • Thanks OP

  • +3

5 burgers for $13.95 plus service fee is a decent deal, although sucks that it's delivery only.

    • +5

Depends how much you like these burgers - for me i think they're crap compared to the previous fillets.

      • I haven’t tried the new ones, is it obvious what’s changed?

        • Yes, there is absolutely no flavour on these at all

          • +3

@Quarter Pounder: I love how your name is Quarter Pounder but you work for KFC lol

  • Only worth it if you are getting 5 burgers otherwise its $11.95 for just one burger.

  • Quintuple for $11.95 delivered. Not bad if you are ok with a cold burger (hopefully not).

  • +1

i can totally see app not working for most and few that can get through brodening the fk out of them all eventually orders will be cancelled

  • Don’t bother with this, they will screw up the crispy coating and it then just becomes an under crispy piece of chicken in between tasteless bread. Had three of these so far and none were breaded thoroughly.

    Also never enough sauce.

  • When is the half time?

    • +3

Approximately 8:50pm. I'm anticipating an absolute dumpster fire.

      • +1

        Thank you!

  • Active already, haven't tried ordering but seems not limited to 5…

  • I just put in an order for 5x for $15.95 delivered. We'll see what happens…

    • Got them no issues. and pretty quickly. They were actually quite nice, the family enjoyed them.

  • +1

I placed an order for 10 because I could. Now let's see if I will get the food.

  • +1

I ordered 6 for 16.95, they just arrived, thanks op

  • +2

    Ordered 20

  • Damn, is this over?

  • I can see it $1, but after add to ther cart, become normal price.

  • I can't see it, NSW only or already over?

    • +4

Its over for today. Tomorrow try again around 3.40pm

  • +2

Order placed, prepared by KFC and picked up by driver. KFC is literally a 5 min drive to my house.
Watched the driver go to two other restaurants near me.

50 mins after placing the order it was cancelled by the restaurant while the driver had it 5 mins away at another restaurant.

    Chat and support completely useless.

That’s an hour of my life I won’t get back and no burgers to make up for it. And one very happy delivery driver.

  • +1

I just got 9 burgers delivered for $20. Bargain!

  • +1

Brought 20 of them earlier. Smashed a few of them already and have put the rest in the freezer.

    • How did you buy 20 of them is that with the same account just 4 consecutive orders or 4 different accounts with 4 separate orders

      • +1

It let me buy as many as I wanted. Seems like the 5 burger limit is not applied.

  • Crap missed it, hopefully on tonight again

  • +2

Do people realise, that if we abuse the system by ordering more than what they had stated as the max : 5. Then there is a good chance we are spoiling it for everybody by making them never repeat this deal or even pulling this deal early. I presume they worked out that 5 plus extra fees , still makes them break even or something plus with the hopes that people order other items as well.

    • +3

Don't blame customers for the failure of the system.

Menulog/KFC could have just made the app to limit orders to 5 each, but they didn't do that. When things are cheap people will buy more, that's basic economics, the law of demand. Menulog/KFC are the ones running the promotion and they should have foreseen and accounted for what could happen. If they pull the deal early, well that's on them. Companies can break promises for a variety of reasons, most of which have nothing to do with the customers (e.g. Deliveroo collapse making all their gift cards useless).

      • -2

They limited the number by stating max 5 per person
.it was in clear writing. You can justify it all you want to yourself but the fact is abusing a deal just ruins it for everybody..plain and simple.

  • +2

"Spend $30" requirement now? also seems capped to 1 burger, despite saying max 5 per customer

Edit: "5 orders", not 5 per order

  • Damn fixed, shoulda got it yesterday :(

  • I guess this deal is over

  • Has the deal changed.

Looks like it has been updated

"Spend $30 for $1 Original Crispy Burger- HT Only"

    • -1

That's what happens when people abuse the system.

      • -1

No one abused the system, the system was just shit and didn't limit the orders like it was supposed to.

        • +1

If they advertise a limit of 5, regardless of whether the system allowed you to order more, that is abusing the system and that is why it's no longer available today.

          • @drewbytes: Agree, but I also think it was a Menulog error to start with. Maybe would have taken longer for them to find/fix without being rorted.

          • -1

@drewbytes: Yup, this is what I stated yesterday. I said if people abuse the system this is what will happen and ruin if for everybody. They can justify it to themselves as it's a error on the company but either way the company stated the limits. People decided to abuse it and now everyone suffers.

  • +2

Unfortunately I couldn’t get it yesterday. As all my local stores weren’t taking orders. ;)

  • +3

Should have got it last night, what a load of BS

  • +1

What an absolute joke "spend $30"

  • +1

Deal now 'Spend $30' only get x1 Burger for $1. Total BS On principal will not use Menulog ever again

  • +2

lol, so basically a repeat of last years debacle.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/784605

  • +1

    Yep, I'm done with Menulog,

Bait and switch is not cool, I'm ok with the 5 limit.
It's adding a min spend that was not advertised.

    • Fixing an error is Ok. But these companies never take ownership of the error by communicating it which is not Ok.

      • +1

That's a pretty big error. It was most likely a change of mind.

        • -1

With how often these food sites have errors plus I've never seen a good KFC deal through them. I assumed was just more defective marketing when first posted.

    • -1

Not really bait and switch. People were able to order 5 yesterday , I ordered 5 and got them.

but then people decided to take the good faith and abuse it by ordering 10 and 20 so they decided to change the deal after being abused. Sucks and we can blame.the company all we want but this is what happens when people abuse the system sadly. It gets ruined for everyone else.

      • -1

No, if people wanted 10 or 20 they can still order as it's over $30

The bait and switch is for people that want 1 to 5.

        Shocking marketing again Menulog

        • You are missing my point. There was no bait and switch for people on Friday night. It only got changed after people abused it. Bait and switch implies it was never available. It was available but a small minority of people ruined it for everyone by abusing it.

          • @lonewolf: No, you are missing the point.
If they wanted to stop people abusing they would cap at 1, but they didn't do that.

They created a new condition that was not on the original T&Cs.

The bait and switch backfired as my family will never use Menulog again.

            • -2

@Jessie Ryder: Its not bait and switch, Since it was available on friday till people rorted the system. And you are still missing the point. Its like saying if someone doesnt lock their front door, then the other people HAVE THE RIGHT to walk in and steal stuff? Or if there arent security guards outside shops frisking every single person to ensure no-one is robbing the store, then the people are entitled to take what they want and not pay. The entitlement is coming out strong .

Fact of the matter is , they told you the limit that they wanted everyone to abide by, but some people decided to abuse it. Lots of other people didnt.

              • -3

@lonewolf: You are still missing the point and you are doubling down lol

If they wanted to stop people abusing the deal they would have capped it at 5 on Friday or 5 on Saturday and Sunday, but they didn't.
They created new a condition ($30 min spend)

It's not a criminal act as per your extreme examples, it's a company with poorly enforced T&Cs who are bleeding goodwill.

                • -2

@Jessie Ryder: No doubling down. Pretty straightforward. If you choose not to understand it. That's fine , that's your choice.

  • It was very clear in terms and conditions as ''*Limited time only while stocks last'' !!
