  • What's wrong with bamboo cutting boards? Aren't they sustainable, naturally anti-microbial and also soft enough not to damage knives?

    • What's wrong with bamboo cutting boards?

      The Pandas eat them.

        And I eat the pandas

    • I find them too hard. Yes they're sustainable.

        I find them too hard.

        Some come with instructions.

    • I find they often warp.

For something you realistically buy once, have a great, solid, cutting board is wonderful.

Some parts of bamboo are soft, and some are hard, so when they are made into a cutting board, you get different hardness across a knife stroke, which can be detrimental on the edge.

    Olive Teak

Olive and Teak are nothing alike, so which is it?

This is like getting upset at an orange leather basketball.

      • +2

Well they’re hard to peel and taste terrible.

  • The The - is this branded merchandise from them? If so, well done for spreading their wings. Infect me with your … cutting board.

    Friendly to knives

If you really want this, you need end grain boards. They've been increasing the discount on cooks collective for weeks now. I'm waiting a little bit longer but there are some decent deals on some of their boards atm.

Do you mind sharing more details about what end grain boards are?

      Update: got it 😉 https://sonderla.com/blogs/sonder-la-blog/end-grain-vs-edge-…

    • Good product, unfortunately Acacia Wood is ugly as sin to me. Teak is much nicer, in my opinion

Would you please post a deal once it's cheap enough! I would love to get one too. Thanks for the information

    • Damn. That's a good price. I paid… uh, more than that for mine.

Although it's not my favourite board, it feels like harder wood or something than my others. And has cracked around one of the 'handle' cut outs. But for that price it's pretty damn good and would buy again if I needed to.
