Up to $800 Cashback on Selected Fujifilm GF, XF, and Optics Products (e.g. GF110mm f/2 R LM WR $800 Cashback) @ Fujifilm

80

Latest Fujifilm cashback for EOFY 2024. Not the best given the current Tiktok driven frenzy driving everything that says Fujifilm out of stock. No camera cashback but some decent cashback on GF zooms and arguably one of the best GF lenses in the 110mm F2.

I'm pleased about the frenzy at the moment - hopefully in about 6 years when I buy secondhand it will mean a surplus of cameras for sale at good prices.

Was just thinking this. I bought an xt3 second hand for 480 in 2021. And a Sony a6000 for 300. Both with lenses. The Sony goes for about ~600, and the xt3 is over a grand now (second hand) WTF!!

Might sell both, wait a year or two and buy some bandwagoning rich kids barely used xt4 or xt5, ha!

Actually what is the whole situation? Fuji used to be undisputed the value king…

      • Yeah I agree, I sold my X-T4 for the same price that I bought it brand new in 2020, and made a 50% profit selling my 16 2.8. Fujifilm X prices are absolutely bonkers and stock is impossible to find anywhere.

A big part seems to be Fujifilm blowing up in popularity on Douyin (Chinese version of tiktok) in China and people are buying here and shipping them overseas to resell. I work in the Sydney CBD and regularly see people walking out with stacks of XS20 and XT5.

This is even before the whole X100VI discussion and people buying cameras as a fashion accessory.

No shit! Its the baby formula thing all over again, buy here ship to China. Hmmmm… Anyone know how to get in touch with a Chinese person paying big dollars for an xt3 and prime lens?

Also when the trend is all said and done, how sure are we that the cameras that made their way into China will be able to make it out/easily obtained by us? Not like people in China can go on marketplace and sell to us locally. Unless if it's a cascade effect where the used market in China drops thus the prices fall elsewhere purely from being to negotiate with "well its cheap over there so it has to be cheap here".

Also isn't tiktok the Chinese version of tiktok?

          • @Some Random Guy: Those cameras are never coming back to Australia I'm afraid. The only segment that doesn't seem to be affected as much is the higher end Fuji stuff like XH2(s), GFX, and higher end X lenses like the red badge lenses and large aperture primes.

Douyin is the Chinese name for the same platform by Bytedance. Tiktok is the westernised version.

            • @Toporo: Quite the toss up now between selling now and waiting and buy new old stock once the influx of sclappers dies, or just sticking with what I have.

              Also who's downvoting me!?

  • Can’t believe the hype train still going on the vi. Knew I shoulda bought 1 during round 1.
