Looking for Advice with nbn Providers

Apologies in advance I know there’s so many of these but i’ve spent the whole day trying to research and figure out which ISP to go with and would love some advice.

It’s just me and Dad here and he only uses the internet for sportsbet and to check his emails so I’m not looking for anything more than 25/8

Currently with superloop but their price hike combined with just their speed as of late is kinda pushing me away from them, looking into spintel and flip for their 25/8 plans but have seen some reviews that flip doesn’t have amazing speed (?) fttp connection currently and just want some advice and your own experiences w diff ISPs plz!! My main thing is just budget friendly plans tbh

Mate currently have $55pm for 6 months but the reviews are average.

  • Flip 12/1 $39 per month for 6m

  • I switched from Superloop to Spintel. The speeds are as they should be, so far.

I switched from Superloop to Spintel. I'm on 211/20 plan. Everything great for 2-3 weeks, then one day dropped to 40/0.08 [that is not a typo]. Uploads so slow that emails can't be sent on first try. Been through Spintel's support many times, port resets etc. Had the NBNCo out who replaced a cable at the node (on HFC) but uploads stuck at 0.08. No support able to help. When I googled Spintel slow uploads there are many similar stories. Churned to Optus now and immediately back to 20 upload.

Conclusion: Spintel were throttling my uploads

Haha, had to vent 🤣. Feel better now!

  • Leaptel 25/10 $49.95/m for 6 months ($69.95/m ongoing). Check other providers deals in 6 months.

  • More has a good deal for 12 months if you are a CBA customer. Otherwise look at Leaptel.

  • Get onto a cheap one before the price hike on July 1st. Even a 6 month special and check again in November.

With due care, go to whistleout for "cheap" deals. Read the fine print though.

  • Have been for past 6-7 years with Exetel $69.99 50/20 going up to $79.99 moved to Kogan 50/17 painless switch over in a few hours and didn't lose connection at any time and a better ongoing price from Kogan, early days but ATM same speeds I was getting with Exetel.
