  • How does this compare to the TurtleWax Hybrid Solutions?

    • +1

Hi this is my first post on this website I just wanted to say their was a Youtube video/test posted about this here:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYxKQwZah1s

They are very close to each other but I think it was proven that the TurtleWax is better slightly. TurtleWax was still lasting after multiple washes whilst the CMX didnt last as long. I picked up the TurtleWax yesterday on ebay for like $25.

Interesting comparo compared to the one I found below which is only age based vs chemical cleaning based.

        • Ah fair enough then mate that one does look better for longevity. If it didn't take a few weeks to ship i wouldn't mind paying the extra $5 especially cause its a larger bottle size too but im just so impatient. Definitely for the average person would recommend this one then. Better bang for your buck.

@Avazo: They both look pretty good TBH. You can't go wrong either way.

Actually went searching and found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ0uVhY1AFg Ultimate Ceramic Spray Coating Test UPDATE 16 - 20 products compared - FINAL UPDATE (1 YEAR) WHO WON

This looks to work better at 6:40 on. Appears to last twice as long (360 days) as the turtle wax one so happy to have bought this.

Having used this for a year now, with two coats, it lasts 2-3 weeks before losing hydrophobic qualities and probably any benefit after that too. That’s for a daily driven car kept in garage.

Fun fact: don't drop these bottles. They are made of a plastic that cracks on impact and you lose all of its contents.

Ask me how I know. FFS.

      How you know?

        Great question. Thanks for asking.

        Exhibit A

On a brighter note I recall only paying about $15.

      Milk's pretty bad too…. and I cried.

    • sounds like it’s by design

      • It has some weird arse chemicals in it so probably needs to be this particular plastic to avoid melting or reacting some other way.

  • Can this be applied directly after a wash or does it need to go on top of a wax?

    • +1

Goes straight on. No wax. I think you might have to remove existing wax to get the best results and there is a CMX product to do that wax/product removal.

This CMX polish/foundation layer is on special too: Mothers CMX Ceramic 3-in-1 Polish & Coat - 473mL https://amzn.asia/d/3PHMXP0

      The Mothers' website says no:

PRO TIP: Best results are achieved on a well maintained finish, free from paint defects, waxes, oils, or contaminants.

I think this is a replacement for wax someone can correct me if im wrong.

  • @x d Thankyou 👍 I grabbed a couple

  • Just purchased but at $28 on Amazon US. I googled it and this price popped up. If you search it on the Amazon app it shows up as $33.

    • It looks like they dropped the price further as my link now shows $28 as well. Bummer.
