Giant Trance 29 1 (2022) Large $2,999 Pick-up/In-store (Also Discounts on Other Giant and Liv Bikes) @ Giant Bicycles

140

Order in a shop or online - in either case the bike is delivered to your local bike shop for assembly and check. As far as I can see, the discount is only available for the Large size. The bike is 2022 model, but I could not find 2023 nor 2024 model of Giant Trance with alloy frame in Australia.

There are discounts on other bikes as well, but not all sizes are available, or discounted.

From the description : "This versatile trail machine is built on a lightweight, stiff and super-strong ALUXX SL frameset that blends our latest Maestro suspension technology with adjustable frame geometry. The Advanced Forged Composite rocker arm has a flip chip that allows you to adjust frame geometry. Choose steeper or slacker head tube/seat tube angles and either a 35mm or 45mm bottom bracket drop to fine-tune the handling for your riding style and terrain. It’s designed around a 130mm travel suspension fork, and the overall geometry has been tuned to maximise its performance on rugged trails."

  • Amazing the huge pricing difference between L and the other sizes. I mean all the other sizes are $4999. How can they justify that $2000 more just because it's in a store instead of from a warehouse.

But with the L size. You even get free pickup with this at store when the bike is delivered from the warehouse to your chosen Giant store. Yes they ship it from the warehouse to the store (even interstate stores it seems) at no cost to you for pickup.

Most likely overstock in size L. Basically just clearance of the specific size and model.

    • The regular price is 4999 for all. The justification is just that it's very old stock they want to get rid of (when demand is now for more modern stock) so for whatever reason e.g. greater volume they've put a big discount on large, but not the other sizes.

      • Old stock is so meaningless for mountain bikes.

        Suspension plateaued years ago.

        Geometry really peaked early 2010s.

Drive train tech is still evolving but it's percentages, unless you are talking about wireless which has settled in the last 3-4.

People just continuously get suckered by all the marketing.

The only real areas left for big improvements are eBikes and that's mostly a weight/battery/distance evolution.

I think the geometry depends on the type of riding, I think for all-mountain and similar the angles peaked closer to 2020 than 2010.

Fox and Rockshox are still trying to get it right even today…

          LMAO what

I believe it could be that the other sizes not available both in the warehouse, nor in stores. Or may be some individual stores do have some very limited stock? After all, it is 2022 model, sooner or later they should run out.

  • Liv Lurra 1 - RRP $2,299, sale price $1,494.

If you're in the market for a hardtail, and were thinking about the Fathom 1 (RRP $2,299), a Large Lurra has very similar geometry to a Medium Fathom…
