Legit website I buy from them all the time
can't ship to melbourne
Originally from New Zealand.
On 2 December 2020, Mighty Ape was acquired by Australian retail and insurance company Kogan.com for A$122.4 million.
Had no idea Kogan bought them. Used to be some good deals on there, makes sense to me now why there hasn't been for some time.
I've been a regular customer since it was called Gameplanet. They're awesome but don't have the cheapest prices anymore. However, you should definitely buy from them in this case.
Guys thoughts on this for a setup to play GT7 & F1 24? Totally new to the racing scene so apologies if a dumb Q.
For fun these entry systems are great! There isn't much for playstation until you pump heaps more money into the hobby. On PC or Xbox there are more options but if you end up enjoying yourself get straight onto PC where there are heaaaaps more options. Just reviewed a cammus C5 and its actually really fantastic (and not in the same league) for circa 2x this :)
Why PS5 you need to spend more? So the PS5 version is not worth it?
PS5 make it a lot harder to get peripherals to work on their devices as they have specific hardware they need embedded into the device which costs a fair wack. Next step up in the PS5 is the 8nm Fanatec CSL DD bundle clocking in over 1000AU currently and the company is on a seesaw going through major changes so I personally wouldn't spend money with them atm.
you got a website or youtube i can watch/read your review on the Cammus?
Its not live yet it. I will post a link here when I send it live (just waiting on Cammus to send through some details)
TLDR I thought the C5 was great for what it is!! (I have a top end simulator ala 40k odd so I came in with low expectations)
I personally don't use mine enough to justify spending more on a better model. It's a perfectly acceptable entry level model that is a fun experience.
Think I need to bite the bullet on this 1
Just stop.
You're not going to use it.
It'll be fun for a few days.
It'll take up too much space.
It'll collect dust.
You'll sell it at a loss on Marketplace and have to deal with Facebook users.Probably right, but between the kids and I maybe we can get some use out of it. I don't have facebook so won't have to deal with them. Gumtree users are slightly better…
That’s why I just buy second hand off marketplace and then sell when done. I’m onto my third G27 in 8 years. Recently bought one for $90. I keep getting tempted by the g920/923 etc but part from a few more buttons on the wheel they don’t seem anymore capable. Once tweaked the g27 is great in automobilista 2
What else do you need to hold the steering weel and peddles? How do you setup on a chair and hold peddle stand in its place?
Technically just a desk and a floor. The wheel clamps to the desk and the pedals will grip on carpet. You can buy a stand for like $90 on eBay/kogan or go down the rabbit hole of full cockpit setups. But with that comes more money spent and less space.
@stratbargain: Thanks mate
@amsaini15: if you have carpet, the pedals usually have a carpet trapper so it stays in place.
It depends if you find an enjoyable game to play with it.
I had a G920 for years and it did spend a lot of time in the box, then I bought Forza Horizon 5 and it never went back in the box again (well, at least until I broke it). I now have a Logitech Pro wheel and it's never been back in the box even once.
buy from amazon, use for a month then return
I've been really tempted to get into sim racing. Buy this or something else?
Got JBhifi to do the Wheel and the shifter for $358. Can it be beat anywhere else?
is g923 worth waiting to go on sale instead of this?
IMO, not much different unless you have the game to support it.
Got a 2nd hand store to do the g923 and shifter for $300 with 3 month warranty. Not sure to go new or get the later model. Not really a fan of 2nd hand gear though.
I had this but wasn't impressed so i returned it to Jeff Bezos. Now that i've started tracking my car i've been looking for sth better with more feedback to improve my lap times, which one should i buy?
Yeah, this is a good beginner option but the best entry level recommended option is T300.
But if this didn't impress, the recommendation will be to try some serious options - Cammus C5, Moxa R5, Fanatec…. for PC.
As you haven't specified budget and platform, would recommend doing digging on Reddit and the likes. Proper setups are usually way expensive then this.
within 1k preferably, but happy to spend a bit more if it means i could get close to IRL driving. I'm on PC btw.
t300 is a step up since it's belt driven, but close to IRL driving prob want a direct drive, those are pricey though.
www.jbhifi.com.au/products/turtle-beach-velocityone-race-uni… cheapest direct drive which is prob better than t300 but still not on par with others like Moza/Logitech pro/fanatec which are easily twice the price
For 1K, a CSL DD (5nm) comes in pretty nice about $500, but a rig goes better with these ones, so you'll want a wheel stand at the least, if not semi rigs like the playseat challenge/trophy and trak racer range
challenge plus the DD should be about 1K
Alright team how much will this improve my enjoyment of snow runner and or mud runner
I tried a wheel on Snowrunner, but I couldn't find a good way to look around without using a separate controller or mouse, which means taking your hands off the wheel. So it was back to the PS4 controller for me.
Ah fair enough might be worth getting just to impress our children
Sign up to iracing and say goodbye to your family and friends. It's a drug.
lool
Should probably put in the title it's for xbox/pc, for the rubes out there that let their subscription to Racing Wheel Monthly lapse.
I got the G923 + Shifter on Fb Marketplace for $230 near new condition, great fun so far with Forza Motorsport and F1. Should shop around used as there’s heaps on marketplace.
that's a bargain for g923 model i belive
…sadly me only got the g29 version
I can assure everyone that if youre interested in SIM racing, this is the best way to go to see if u like it without spending a ton. Because if u do get hooked, the rabbit hole you go down with direct drive wheels and sim rigs after that… is fun :)
When you mention cart… I'm thinking mario cart
Cheaper here but never heard of the website before maybe someone will be able to comment -
