They're under selling themselves. It plays MP3s and MP4s, so I think it's actually an MP7 player.
the maths checks out
I wonder how it differs to this one on Aliexpress for less… US$33.57 + GST delivered.
Appears to be the same so no bargain here. More like just using OzB for free advertising.
@WatchNerd: Thanks for the cheaper link WN.
@WatchNerd: As per WN, cheaper identical product is available cheaper
isn't .mp5 just another file extension, which this device can play lmao
Not really. Although it exists, any file extension in theory exists. I can just make up one right now. That does not mean there is new file format. Just extension - a piece of text.
.mp5 file extension is just renamed mp4. to make it look like it supports another format (likely better as 5 is higher than 4), even though it does not. This guy gets it
Here's a bit of trivia if you're interested. I used to have access to a CD that contained MP5 music files to be played at venues, but they were just simply MP3 files with a layer of DRM and encryption over the top of them. We needed to have a special player with a passphrase at said venues to play them. It was mentioned that they were copyrighted tracks that they gave out to staff to play for guests, but didn't want the music to end up at their homes (or on the internet) free of charge.
They mostly used MP5 so we could quickly differentiate between what was encrypted, and what wasn't with regular MP3 files on a disc.
But yes, overall, they don't exist outside of a theory.
@Goldfire: I see. Didn't know about that one. I was aware only of the fake mp5 video extension.
5000 mMP
I guess it would last about 5 min in the Qld summer.
Pretty sure these are $45 delivered everyday on AliExpress (don't quote me though).

I must be behind on the times - didn’t even know MP5 was a format.
Yeah it plays 9mm rounds

Cheap shit sold at normal cheap shit price is not a bargain.
A bargain is something sold at a notable discount to normal price.
For around the same money you can get one with Android Auto and Apple Carplay…
Cheaper elsewhere as per WN comment above
"MP5" lmao.
