My 3C alerted me to this deal today, and it looks like it's at its lowest price. I assume Amazon has price-matched with JB Hi-Fi.

I went to Bunnings this morning and ended up paying $287.10.

My plan is to use it with Home Assistant (through Bluetooth integration), though I haven't tested it yet.

You can also add a keypad and/or a Wi-Fi dongle if you want more options – they are on sale at JB Hi-Fi but not on Amazon.

In future I may buy an entrance lock for my garage entry door, if the price becomes reasonable.

Edit: I wrote up my steps to integrate it with Home Assistant here

  • Does this feature auto-unlock via geofencing?

  • Assuming this probably won't interface with security doors that have triple locks (top and bottom as well)?

    • +5

      Yes it does

  • Can the handle bar be changed to the left hand side?

      Yes it can

Speaking of security screen doors….can anyone source ozbargained (crimsafe type) mesh doors in Sydney? Cheapest I can get supply and fitted is around $750

    • I don't think you can get any cheaper than that. I got one installed about 4 years ago after a lot of bargain hunting and it cost me around the same price as you.

Go for it mate, if you need a security door it's a bargain. The only thing is they might charge you extra if they'd have to put in a frame in it as well.

      • Thanks for your thoughts. Love the ID btw

  • How did you just pay $280… at bunnings?

    • 10% price beat my guy

      • Thanks, going to try after work then

  • Anyone know of the water resistance of this? Or have recommendations for a lock suitable for an outdoor gate?

  • OP, if you managed to integrate this with HASS, please let me know. I have the same one installed for almost a year now.
I just gave up with the bluetooth integration and thinking about buying the wifi bridge.

    • Sure, I'll report back here. However, if I'm unable to integrate it with HA, I'll return it!

      • integration is possible and from what i've heard more reliable if you use the bridge, rather than interacting directly using bluetooth

I use HA with my Yale locks.inckuding this one.

The wifi bridge works flawlessly however if you're just after status reporting, it usually has a significant lag. Eg it will report the door as open for an hour after you've closed it.

I added a Bluetooth proxy and now the reporting is near-instantaneous. However it does drop out from time to time.. fortunately the integration seems smart enough to fall back on the Yale Connect bridge when it's not getting a Bluetooth connection.

wow, thats great! also thanks for the writeup. i will try this weekend. fingers crossed! has it worked reliably for you?
i also has esp32 with bluetooth proxy, approximately 1 meter away from the lock.

No worries. It's been just couple of hours now. So far so good.

  • The Yale App fails with this lock, glitchy app. App didn't work after 6 months of getting lock installed. You can get locked out if you leave your phone or tags inside and if you don't install the Yale keypad. Can work with triple lock doors with difficulty. If battery goes flat, you're meant to charge it, how if you're locked out? No key override. Customer service from Yale/Assa Abbloy, not great at all.
Would not recommend, doesn't matter how cheap it is. If you're after a decent smart lock with Crimsafe or triple locking doors, see this: https://ultrasecua.com.au/products/ultra-secua-digital-lock

    • would you know if this works with homeassistant?

    • Ive had the normal unity on my garage/backdoor for the last 2 years and its been flawless, auto unlock, auto locks. Even with my kids pulling on it whilst its trying to unlock.

I rarely ever use the app since ive got geofencing on, even bought an extra 2 sticker tags to attach to my phone for when i am working in the garage and just want to tap something vs open app.

    • I had mine replaced once. On this second unit now, there is no communication with the app. Now trying to get this one sorted.

      • Well the one that I bought today is stock on updating loop. Keeps updating to 100% and starts another round. App is not doing anything useful. Looks like I need to go to bunnings again to replace it.

        • Try reinstalling the app if you haven't done it already.

  • Still too pricy. Would like the door lock to be integrated too. But the second one isn’t on sales

  • Does this work with Apple Homekit without having to purchase the Yale Bridge?

  • Thanks for posting! Anyone knows if theres a version for sliding screen doors?
