If not then go for the 8Bitdo, I found the DualSense to be majorly lacking with cross-platform compatibility, even had to pay for extra software to get it working on Windows. While my 8Bitdo Pro 2 works perfectly with any console or PC that I've tried (other than PS5 which forces you to use DualSense due to anti-competitive BS).
Better battery life, better compatibility, and way better warranty
DS is considered to have better gyro, in case that influences your decision. It also has better haptics for the scant few games that utilise it. The Ultimate has 2 rear buttons.
For the same price I think the DS has more significant draw for me. It's a shame there's nothing with the killer combo of good gyro, hall effect sticks, and rear buttons.
Had DualSense in basket but you mentioning 8Bit made me reconsider. Where would you be buying 8Bit Ult. from for $65. I've found mWave have it for $69 + $9.95 shipping.
