Hey Ozbargainers,

I have been on the hunt for another Godox v1 to do some off camera photos.

Last one i purchased was from Georges for $325 which already discounted.

This is a super sharp price $276 (ATL i believe) if anyone else is in market for a good on camera flash or multi for off camera flash.

0.95% surcharge on card, PayPal, WeChatPay, AliPay & UnionPay payments.

I have linked the Sony option as there seems to be more Sony fan boys here are the other brands.

Paid 331 in 2019 but kinda quit photography for a while after I had kids. Good to see still holding value relatively well. Works real good with a7iii.

Really like the Godox system. If you're using these flashes off camera all the time, it doesn't really matter which system version you have, so long as you have the right trigger. I've been firing Sony, Pentax, Olympus, and FujiFilm models all from the one trigger - sometimes all at once!

  • Is this better for smaller subjects? I take it that food/bar photography would be better with a soft box?

    • I would use a softbox or umbrella as diffusion. Can also shoot it into large white cardboard to bounce light onto the food.
If you cant use light shapers. Get the dome attachment and tilt the head up to bounce of the roof

    • I don't think there's much that isn't improved by some sort of diffusion right? Hard light sucks in most situations, unless you're after that look. Maybe macro it's nice to have a bit of direction sometimes.

Softbox…or a small diffuser on the head (or not) and bounce off a reflector maybe? Those folding hooped reflectors are pretty easy to manage.

I dunno…I'm no pro. I'm always wanting to get rid of shadows with product shots though…and that's pretty similar to food work.

  • I just bought my second TT685II, and tempted to get this one - furiously convincing myself it all makes sense….
The V1 has a modelling light and to me seems like an AD100 (well slightly less power) that can sit on the camera if needed. Add the S2 bracket and you can put it on a stand, together with Bowens modifiers, or an umbrella.
Just to update, there are discounts on the V860III, TT685II and XPro triggers as well

  • v1 pro is out. gonna place an order for that one, with the ak-r1 set
