Boost eSIM Expired - My Options

Hi All,
This morning I realised my 365 eSIM from boost expired. In the past I saved some money by porting my number to Amaysim and then signed up with boost as new customer.

I came here to pick your brain and show me a way forward. I need to make calls and use data.

Currently my options for Boost recharges are:
$230= 160GB
$300= 240GB

I’m very happy with Boost and would like to continue with them ie on Telstra network.

  • If you can wait 2 days… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/849867

  • Lucky mobile seem to reliably have the discounted sims. Sometimes there is a better one on ebay, haven't seen any posted on ozbargain recently

Up to you if it is worth mucking around to save $35, I don't think I'd bother at that price. You can activate a $2 telstra sim with no plan to switch over.

  • +1

unless you wish to buy a recharge at full price

you can port out back in but make sure you port to a provider that doesn’t require sending a text message for verification of number ownership

what you need is a provider that sends you a verification code you enter online

i cannot recollect which telco does what, but some might know here

Even if the sim is expired, I think OP should still be able to receive the verification code via text unless the number has been canceled and returned to the pool. My 1 year amaysim expired a few weeks ago and I was able to receive the SMS and port to Boost a few days after expiry.

      • Mantra talked about sending a text message for verification with the new provider, not receiving text verification which would not be a problem.

  • If there’s no easy way to save I’ll just pay $300 as I urgently need to use my phone.

I think Boost always notifies customers to recharge 3 days before expiry. You must have ignored the SMS. Otherwise, you could have planned ahead.

      • Yes I forgot this year and overlooked the text :(

  • Go to Coles or woolies to see if any cheap sim on sale for a month… That gives u time to port out and buy new boost sim on sale

  • I found I got amaysim e-sim with $10 credit I can get 7 days 5GB good enough for me.

Can someone confirm in 2 days existing customers can recharge boost eSIM $300 for $260?

    • yes
      doing this myself

also cheaper option wouldve been $5 aldi sim or $2 Lebara sim from colesworths and activitate using desktop browser to get the PAYG feature.

But the $10 7 day option via amaysim esim is the quickest laziest option

      • Thank you so much. My Amaysim $10 was expiring in next month I didn’t have to pay anything.
The OZ thread is saying in 2 days does that mean I can recharge boost on Tuesday morning? Sorry my math is bad.

        • you can maximise the use of ur amaysim time or wait until the moment amaysim confirms the port into their service to port out immediately

          • @furythree: I fully misunderstood this. I thought I’ll just wait 2 days for my boost eSIM without porting my number and use another eSIM number I have on my phone.

I now made silly mistakes. I used my PAYG $10 on my Amaysim no to survive 7 days. Then after reading your message carefully I ported my boost number to Amaysim paid $10.
I’ll port out in 2 days to Boost $300 for $260.
            I literally would save $20-$30.

    • Is this legit looks too good to be true?
Boost doesn’t even have this advertised on their site.

What’s the catch or fine print?

  • I got one couple of weeks ago. All activated last week no issues.

    • Thank you so much mate. This is perfect. After all that port in and out this package would help me port back into Boost. I just ordered in with express post $195.

  • Can purchase through top cashback and get $50 cashback on the two 365 day Sim plans..

    • Oh no I didn’t get a bargain then.
How long does the cashback actually take to become cash let’s say I buy today and get it activated today?

      • Takes a month or 2 then can transfer to bank or gift cards
