Yes but it's not January….it's June sir.

I thinks he was highlighting it’s a better deal now than back then.

How fast do these benchmark? I'm sick of buying huge thumbdrives that write data super slow.

    • +6

They are better than your standard USB drives. Reported having sequential reads at 100MB/s, sequential writes at 20MB/s

If you need something quicker you should look at the Patriot Supersonic Rage Prime with reported sequential reads at 400MB/s, sequential writes at 400MB/s

      • Thanks yeah I have a really old PNY 256GB drive and somehow its faster than most modern drives. I just want something that can write at 80MB/s but everything I try is a glacial 5-20MB/S which was fine when the drive was tiny but if I am writing 100+ GB of files it takes so long.

      • +2

I have both. It is true. The rage is stupid quick…. Like read and writes at 350MB/s…yes that's bytes not bits.
These drives however are still quite respectable for 'cheapies' and I get about 80MB/s.

I bought a 64gb one of these individually, it's genuinely fast for the price. Mine intitially benchmarked around 250MB/s read/150MB/s write (non-sequential) but slowed down after about a month.

It's definitely still considerably faster than anything else I've tried for $10 for a 64GB flash drive.

I have the 64GB and 32GB versions of these, they are ok , as mentioned fast read but relatively slow write (20ish mb/s)

I believe the 128GB though have MUCH faster write speeds, up to 80-100mb/s

I'll be honest, I don't think I'll buy another USB drive without USB A and C on the same drive anymore

    It's too convenient.

    • Yeah, but where am I going to get a lot of 5 OTG adaptors at such a good price?
Those little suckers are expensive or slow. Only ever had a couple of good ones and they sold out quick…

      • True usually the adaptor costs more than the drive these days lol

    • Maybe have a look at the Silicon Power Mobile C51.

  • You just know it's a good product when it's called Patriot Supersonic Rage Lite

I'm gonna make a supersonic man out of you

  • Didn't need but bought the 64gb pack. Have bought many of their A55 128gb SATA ssds to upgrade old laptops.. been very happy with them !

  • Now showing as $53.55 for the 128gb 5-pack
