  • Here's the last post with lots of discussion about how it works, it basically heats up your skin sharply for a second or so:

In that case I can just blast the bite with my IPL (and all the hair around it at the same time).

Honestly just use a hair dryer. Apply heat to the area (at a distance obviously don’t burn yourself) for around 10 secs or until it starts to sting a little. The itch disappears like magic and works for around 12 hours, repeat as required. Online there is speculation that you can’t feel pain and itch at the same time, not sure if it’s true but it seems plausible and it absolutely works.

  • Fair enough

  • Does this work on dog bites?

  • +1

Still better not to get bit at all. While this may take care of the itch, it won't do anything against any potential viruses that have been injected from the bite.

lol biggest waste of money ever…

    • +6

      Really? Worse than NFTs?

    • +3

Worked great for me in Bali

      • I bought this previously, works great

      • -4

cheaper then a young boy giving you a rub down….

          username checks out

    • +1

No actually works great when you are out on a bushwalk.
Acting fast makes a lot of difference, depends how sensitive you are. A lighter and spoon also work, but with kids you have the danger of easily burning them.

Try applying coconut oil around the bite, it works great. May be carrying in a small bottle make it great for camping.

Buy this and make sure you get hundreds of sandfly bites to get your money's worth 😆

    • +2

Mosquito bites leave my skin itchy for a whole week so it well worth the money.

      sounds like "alone NZ"

  • +3

Bought in the last sale, and I was surprised at how well it works.
    Bought another.

    • -2

Are you planning to "heal" two bites at the same time?

      • +1

The other is for my parents.

  • Is this device rechargeable, or does it take replaceable batteries? If replaceable, what size/type are the batteries?

Edit: found the info in previous OzBargain deals. 2xAAA batteries. Anyone know if it works with eneloops?

    • +1

      Yes

  • I usually heat up a spoon with a bic lighter, works well to stop mozzie bites swelling and itching, this might be better.

    • +2

And people don't think you're about to shoot up?

      • Use a fork then.

  • Would this work for horse flies?

  • If this works to break up the intense pain of some spider bites… jellyfish stings…and suchlike, it would be fantastic.
Would a volunteer please step up?

    • +1

from experience heat works, although very tempoorarily, with jellyfish stings however obviosuly you will need to cover a much larger area so it's much better a hot shower than this thinghy.

  • -1

Does this work for dog bites?

    • would probably stop the dog biting if you apply the heat to its nose?

  • -1

I bought 3 last time for $75. If anyone in Sydney wants to buy one for $25, let me know.

  • what if you have multiple mozzie bites it's rare to get only 1 bitr, also what about sand flies these bites exhibit the same if not worse symptoms.

  • I wonder what is the difference between this one and the cheaper BR 60, other than the name and the color.
