As part of Mobileciti's storewide eBay sale tomorrow are these two really good Segway Ninebot Electric Scooters if you're in the market for one that's good for commuting or a bit of fun on the weekend. Both of these scooters have front and rear suspension for a much smoother ride, as well as powerful motors to handle hills better and a larger battery for more range - you can easily get 35-45km on single charge riding normally.

The deal kicks off from 10am on Friday 7th June 2024 and the coupons will become live then.

The Max G2 is the newer version of the Max G65 which is an improved version of the original popular Segway G30 series and Electric Kicks have a comparison of the scooters. The improvements of the Max G2 over the G65 includes adjustable suspension, a strong 450W motor with 900W peak (vs 600W), up to 70km range, Apple FindMy integration and a whole set of improved safety features including a better headlight, visible red brake lights, front/rear indicators and electric horn.

Both are restricted to 25km/h out of the box to be compliant with features including 10" self healing tubeless tyres, rear wheel drive, 3 speed modes, E-ABS + drum brakes, 5 hour fast charge, phone app for settings etc, IPX5 body water resistance & IPX7 battery pack water resistance and can be connected to the Segway app for settings.

      I saw that it's bigger. I believe the G65 is closer to the G30 size.

    Can the G2 be unlocked for higher speeds?

      Yes but it can be difficult. You need to use xiaodash to change the first letters of the serial from 02GV to 01GX for it to be seen as a "global version" for a maximum speed of 32~35km/h. There's discussion here.

          Yes Segway use the same images for advertising. Basically Australia gets the speed restricted EU version to be street legal.

      Not 100% sure about G2, F65 you can. One free Android software you change 4th digit to enable the 30km/h. Also another one xiaod…. But need to open it up and flash firmware. Obviously void warranty but boosts speed up to around 37-40 and unlocks everything. Example Amps for speed and so on. Would be careful as if doing so can fry components as over"boost" it.

      The genuine listing on AliExpress is US$740ish or around $1100 AUD. Then customs will likely hit you with GST and the import fee.

      There's a significantly cheaper listing from a new store with no feedback and won't ship to AU for me. That looks like a quick cash grab scam.

        You won't have the same serial if you unlock. You can just change the serial back if you needed to do a warranty claim.

      I got a F2pro refurbished from them last week. Three damages on the scooter. How's your ones going? Mobielciti said the refurbished scooter is from vender, they need to contact with them before getting back to me what to do.

        Ordered the 8th. Let you know here when it arrives. No shipping updates as of yet. What damages? What I read excellent condition should just be small scratch marks hardly visible. So guess from Segway refurbished.

          yes that's what I thought too but there is a crack on the control panel screen, the turning indicator cover fell off and the connector of the folding parts is broken. Make sure you take some photos for everything including the package just in case. They used startrack which is also awful. My scooter was dropped off at the LPO where is 20mins away from my home. It's PH at NSW so I have wait until Wednesday to hear back from them. Looks like the refurbished scooter are sold by the third party so they don't inspect the condition before sending out. Hope your ones will be okay.

        Well this turned into sh… Scooter issues from day one. Going in circles with mobileciti. Keeps emailing instead of eBay.message. their Ra email are faulty on their.ebay site. Scooter was jumpy and stopped working. Wouldn't sync up initially. Now just stopped and doesn't even charge. Also on charger I saw power issue with an Harvey Norman sticker. This whole thing stinks. Said 3 options. New replacement. Full refund or they organise a replacement from Segway as under warranty. But they keep going in circles. End.of.week.i said i return it for full refund if no.answer. bought 7th. 30 day return.

          I am still waiting mobileciti to pick up my order as they said they have to get Segway to organize the courier. I”ll wait by end of the week before submit claim from PayPal.
