  I was excited when I saw the light strip in the image. But it's still $40
  The LED kitchen worktop lighting strip. I don't see a discount on that. Looks like I'll then pay extra for the cables and the remote. Rip-off.

  Any suggestions for a nice light strip for the kitchen? (not from Ikea if possible)

    Fine…
    individual items tend to be a bit over-priced compared to…
    but when you're making 'packages', Ikea is well priced and fairly well made.

    I was looking to put cabinets in my garage,
    Bunnings Kaboodle stuff is easy enough, but over double the cost,
    Bunnings flatpack is nearly double the cost
    Going 'all metal' and fancy is great, but when adding postage, it's cheaper than bunnings, but still double the cost

    so, I ended up with Ikea Enhet kitchen stuff…..Great, bought a few hundred bucks of vouchers with 10% cashback, missed their 10% off sale by a day!

    at the end of the day, it's all melamine / chipboard anway

    e.g. IKEA Bosch-made dishwashers have 5-year warranty, but Bosch-branded ones only have 2-years
