I died seeing the price. Now my family can get super payout. Good result!

I think they should be called "MF" instead of Fitness First, where M means Money!

  • how is Fitness first vs anytime fitness?

    • Same. go with any of them depanding on the location close to you.

      • FF has sauna, steam, swimming pools etc depending on location

        • +5

Might be worth moving as anytime jacked my membership fee without any communication

          • @DaTa: Same, went from $42.35 a month to $85!!!!

What the hell? Makes Fitness First seem like excellent value.

        • Do they keep up the sauna, steam room…etc. facilities?

  • +2

You can checkout any time you like but you can never leave.

Been a while but my experience with them was they made you jump through loops to cancel your membership.

    • +1

This automatically ends after 13 months.

      • Will they put you on the $30.99/wk plan after the 13 months? Couldn't read the T&C's link.

      • +2

Just saying I would be very careful to look at the fine print.

  • For anyone in Melbourne’s East, Doncaster can offer this weekly rate without paying upfront. These people are desperate for your business, you don’t need to pay upfront.

Fitness First use Debit Success to manage their direct debit. It’s not a scam.

        Evidence?

          I am a member.

@Maths Debater: That’s what a scammer would say.

Plus as one poster mentioned above, the discounted price can be obtained direct through Fitness First via negotiation.

So yes, this deal is dodgy on multiple fronts.

            • +3

@JeBs: Calling a fellow ozbargainer a scammer who is literally giving you first hand evidence rebuking your ignorant claims is so unnecessary. Who shat in your weetbix this morning?

            • @JeBs: Take your meds.

What type of company uses a PO Box number for their main contact address?

      https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/nswgovdirectory/revenue-nsw

  • Do they have family membership?

  • +1

They make you lose weight by being unable to afford food

  • Check the rate if you're an AIA Vitality member -> Half price through them

  • Do you guys get cheaper memeberships? This is the normal gym membership prices is it not? My Snap fitness is $18/week, but I like the 24hr setup as I usually go later at night.

    • A lot of FF locations are also 24hrs too these days. FF is way more premium than typical snap/anytime typically have sauna, steamroom and some have pools etc.

      • Unfortunately fitness first are gone from QLD. All turned into Good life gyms here.

  • It’s much cheaper than V active membership fee (even after the 50% off discount as an AIAmember)

  • As an aside it looks like the Virgin Bourke St gym has closed. I used to go there but the cost has become way too expensive.

  • +1

How would this work if you're a current FF Plat member?

  • That’s actually an awesome price for what you get!

  • …this is a very good deal!

  • +1

this is cheaper than anytime fitness year upfront.. good price

  • When does this offer expire? I'm currently out of contract with FF paying week to week, wish to cancel my current membership and get on this one but there is a 30 day cancellation period.

    • I don't think it does expire.. Since they are still selling the Costco 6 month membership and this offer was likely created for afterwards

      • Oh I see, whats the costco 6 month membership price?

        • +1

I can't remember exactly but was around $500 - so this deal is even better value (unless you don't want to lock in for longer than 6 months)

  • I showed the local club this and they say it doesn’t include the extra few dollars per week for the Pilates class. You reckon they’re having me on?

    • No that's extra unfortunately.

      • Thanks!

  • I rang Debit Success to confirm its the correct link by contacting them on 1800 148 848 before paying for it. They couldn't confirm or deny and asked me to call FF. So i will do that next.
How many people have taken up on this offer already?

    • I have. No issues with it.

    • Did you have any luck with FF?

  • Is there a join fee?

    • No

      • I just enquired about the membership at FF and they informed me that if I was to sign up through the deal, the membership would be pro-rated based on the amount paid with their standard platinum membership price. Can you confirm if this was told to you at your FF?

        • No that's wrong. signed up and paid the amount pre-paid, not a single cent more.

          • @freedomofspeech: Without sounding sceptical, do you have any corporate partnership or indirect affiliation with debit-success? I'll try call debitsuccess tomorrow and FF Bondi to see if I can get further verification of deal

            • @Deal4One: No. Here's the story-
Bought 6 month Fitness First membership in Costco. Then at the end of the 6 months, they sent this offer via debit success. Signed up and it worked fine. No additional cost.

e/ Read through and save the T&Cs and pay with Credit Card and you can always go do a Credit Chargeback in case anything goes wrong.

              • @freedomofspeech: Just spoke with DebitSuccess today and they said they cannot authenticate the offer on their end and asked me to call FF directly. When I called their Head Office Bondi Platinum gym, they let me know that this offer was not a legitimate offer and is not valid with Fitness First. If you believe this is incorrect, are you able to share additional evidence that you have been accepted and are able to visit Fitness First under this offer?
