Google Pixel 8 Pro 128GB $929.10, 256GB $1019.10, 512GB $1199.10 Delivered (Newsletter Signup Required) @ Google Store

2081

Reckon this is the one to beat! All time low as far as I could see (excluding trade-in offers)

Pixel phones currently discounted on the Google store, and while I couldn't get StudentBeans or Unidays, the 10% discount for signing up to their newsletter does work!

You can also get an additional 10% back via Google One 2TB plan (but this won't work if using Google Store credit to pay for your order)

Hope this helps!

  • No issues with the deal. I got this phone for free and it's not worth that. Has to be one of worst phones I've used. Very buggy especially with their own apps like google maps where it'll crash if go to another app and come back, it struggles with multi tasking, have had it turn off randomly, only good thing would be battery but save your money

    • For me it's the WiFi connection that is crap. Always loosing the signal in my bedroom, where my Pixel 3 that I still have never loose the signal.

    • +2

I've had mine since its launch last October. While I do remember encountering a few glitches in the very early days, most of them were fixed by the first few firmware updates released late last year. The only pet peeve I have with it now is the lack of sensitivity of the fingerprint reader, especially when my fingers are dry. Other than that, the phone has worked very well for me. Battery life is excellent, mobile reception is better than most other phones I’ve used before, and the camera is also top-notch.

    • Got mine on the Optus deal at the start of the year or late last year whenever it was. Completely agree, phone is very buggy and apps crash all the. Never found a use for any of the AI pro bs features either

  • +3

I'm a bit disappointed with the Pixel 8 Pro and the price.

Can't believe full price was $1699, and already sub $1000.

It will have such a poor resale value.

I sold my P7 Pro 128GB $600 after a year, (and full price was 1299)

I will be lucky if I can sell the P8 Pro $700 just before the 9 comes out.

I'll still buy Pixel phones though because I'm a Google sucker,
    But I like to rant

    • +3

Can't believe full price was $1699, and already sub $1000.

Pixel phones are always half price within a year

      • -1

        that hurts

      • +1

That sounds like a good thing for consumers.

    • +5

That is why never buy android phones at launch unless too good of an offer. Best to wait 6 months and buy with price drops and not worry about resale.

      • +1

        This is the way!
Line up your phone 'upgrade' time mid-way through the Pixel drop cycle rather than the start of the cycle (like Google want)
Pay half price instead of full.

      • Agree always never buy at launch. From experience usually heavily discounted around the 8-10 months mark. Because it's likely new model coming out and they want to clear stock. Even 6 months might not be the best price. In this case pixel around 8 months since October 2023 release

    • +2

Great phones but would never pay full price, just wait a bit after launch and they get discounted.

Paid I think $869 for a P7P, sold it for $600 during the recent trade in deal for P8P and made a profit while doing so (cancelled trade in and they never took the money from my card, just cancelled the whole thing). Whatever I get for the P8P is therefore a bonus when the time comes.

Really don't get the hate that always happens on here when Pixels are mentioned (maybe Apple devotees?). Great phones, terrific camera and good value if you wait for them to get discounted. Everyone else in my house has iphones and I much prefer my phone to theirs. I've yet to see any phone that has no bugs at all, be it iphone, Samsung or whatever. Such a machine does not exist.

    • +1

never buy Pixels when they come out. Wait 9-10 months and getthem half price or less on Marketplace

      • If you wait two years, they'll pay you to take them! Hahahaha

      • Dead right the only deal worth buying was the Optus one.

$928 get you P8Pro last Nov was worth it that should have been right price all along.

      • But it was on sale for this price on release date and went up after wards.

      • +1

        never buy phones on marketplace…

        • lol why bought 2 phones in the past couple of years on MP, one 1 week old Motorola Edge 30, and one 2 weeks old Pixel 6, paid roughly 50-60% of the RRP in both cases, both with JB hifi receipt an with full warranty ahead. Plenty of people buying sh*t and regret.
But if you love paying full price, by all means go on! :)

          • @liongalahad: It's all fun until one day it won't be because its stolen goods / dodgy sellers with locked phones etc…

But yeah you do what's best for you :)

            • +1

@kaleidoscope: If they provide a JB receipt it's probably not going to be stolen goods.
I also never meet anyone unless it's a residential address and they have history of other sells and good rating on marketplace.
If you are smart enough you can purchase good stuff for good money and likehood of getting scammed is low. If you are dumb then yeah, agree you can get burnt.

              • @liongalahad: That's what I said you do what's best for you because you seem to go through a lot the steps (receipt/ residential address / reviews / … ).
But just because, it's not wise to announce 'buy them from marketplace' for everyone else… (Just FYI, receipts can be faked if someone is determined to commit a fraud)

For me personally, I'd never consider buying a phone from marketplace as the what ever the amount of money you save than buying from a reputed shop is not worth the risk you're taking on.

                • @kaleidoscope: I just like to save money and to me it's not a great risk at all as I do my due diligence and really enjoy it when I feel I got a good deal

  • +2

Can confirm that the code can be used on another google account in case anyone was wondering.

  • Any idea how long the sale is on for or how long they normally run for? There's a * next to the price on the product webpage but no corresponding * in the list further down (there's a ** but that's for the fitbit promo).

  • My Samsung Note 10 is still working fine after almost 5 years. Will Pixel 8 last for that long? My last pixel was made by LG and the battery die in a couple of years.

    • +1

stick to samsung, better quality build, always found pixels to be very flimsy phones

      • Id say pixel can have a lot of criticism but being flimsy isn't one of them. Lots of people still using pixel 3s 4s and 5s

        • And none of those have Tensor chips

  • How many months do you need to stay on 2TB plan to receive the 10% credit?
I read on their website where they say they send you the 10% credit as soon the item ships but also read on another page saying the 10% credit is given 30 days later???

Their site is bugged! Sometimes it says the credit is added to your account after 30 days other times it says 24 hours after dispatch.

    Start getting Google Store credit
The earned credit is added to your account 24 hours after your purchase ships, and you must still be an eligible Google One plan manager at that time in order to receive the credit.

Terms and conditions for Google One rewards on Google Store
Store Credit is granted 24 hours after dispatch of the order and expires 365 days from the grant date.
    https://support.google.com/googleone/answer/9003266

    When I refresh…

    Start getting credit
The earned credit is added to your account 30 days after your purchase is dispatched, and you must still be an eligible Google One plan manager at that time in order to receive the credit.
    https://support.google.com/googleone/answer/9003266?hl=en-GB…

    • Confirm my order dispatched and the credit is applied to the account immediately. I then used it to buy a fitbitt.

Will cancel Google One later this month - not bad for $3.12!

  • Best phone I've had. So far.

    • Even better than S24 Ultra?

      • I haven't had that phone 🤣

The s24U would definitely have better hardware. They always do.

But the os, ai assistant integration, photo processing is a bit more refined on the pixels imo.

So depends on what's more important to you

        • Agree Pixel Ai and the software just leaps and bounds better. Hardware wise not the best but it takes great photos and it's Assisted calling function saved me putting up with onhold music listening to crap music for 1 hour

          • @neonlight: Call screening and hold for me are very underrated

  • +1

Pixel 8a for $350 after trade in and $200 gift card was great too.

  • Can’t seem to get the newsletter code on any of my email addresses, I receive the newsletter subscription but no code.

Anyone have one they aren’t going to use? Could PM it me please.

  • Is it normal for google to not allow student beans codes combined with a promo like this?
If i input the beans code, it takes away the current google discount…but if i use the 10% newsletter code, both are applied

    • Was mentioned in deal description haiyaaaaa

Sometimes it stacks and sometimes it doesn't

      • Ahh I see now, my bad, i thought it meant you couldn't get/didnt have the beans or uni code. Cheers, makes sense now

      • Hai yaa!
Thanks Uncle. Needed to upgrade my phone asap since I'm stuck on 3G.

        rant:
I was tossing up between the Samsung S24+ and the Pixel 8 Pro.

They're both new, have 7 year software support, have great camera, and they are both the same dimensions as the old Samsung Note 9 (which means they fit with Razer JungleCat). I think overall S24+ is the better device and higher quality. But in Australia we get ripped off with the Exynos stuff (latest is okay but not flagship competitive). And the S24+ has the hardware eFuse/Knox and almost noway to root, let alone running any Custom ROMs, whilst all of that is encouraged (yes, warranty) with the Google Phone. So either the PixelOS with Root, or a nice EvoX Custom ROM, or just a whole new GrapheneOS build, all different and distinct but good experiences. Which edged me over to the Pixel side, especially with this deal here.

    • You were able to stack both discounts? Student code + newsletter code? I thought you couldn't apply both?

      • Nope, can't double stack, was just saying the student beans code won't work with the current offer, puts the phone back to full price then applies the 15% off.

  • Does anyone know the process of how to return a phone to the Google store, just purchased the 8a on Sunday and wanting to purchase the 8 pro now that its on sale. I've begun the process on the Google website and filled out a form, however now I've a email about team global express and some documents to get the phone back to Google. Thanks.

    • Yup, you di it via global. A bit annoying, but pretty straightforward

      • Would it be just filling out the security form, consignment note and commercial invoice and then putting the consignment note on the outside of the box with the other documents and the rma return slip in the box.
Sorry, it just seems a bit confusing, just want to make sure I'm doing it the right way.

  • For me as an existing google account holder, and google one subscriber, is there any way to sign up for the newsletter 10% discount, and stack the google one 10% back?

    • Thank you OP for posting this deal. I got the code using another email address (not my main gmail one). Bought the phone using my main gmail account. Used some existing store credit. And got 10% back on the final purchase price in google credit due to being a Google One subscriber. Very good deal, just what I wanted given my Pixel 7 Pro screen cracked a few weeks back, after I dropped it.

      • How long did it take you to get the 10% code from the other email? signed up using 2 new gmails but nothing so far :(

        • It was almost immediate.

          • @aussiefied: thanks mate. never got mine. contacting support but not very helpful so far.

  • -3

Samsung's UI is better than Google's tbh. Pixel series is overrated.

Would have still preferred Oneplus 12 but its too expensive in Aus.

  • I know everyone has a different setup and usage for their phones, but having had a Pixel 7 Pro since launch, I can't say I've experienced lag or battery issues. Only in two occasions I got a warning that the camera/phone is getting too hot, but that was only after taking a lot of photos on 35c+ days. My first Pixel and I'd buy another (trying to hold out for Pixel 10 with TMSC SoC).

  • +2

Seems like everyone has issues with every pixel phone except me. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Pixel 2, 3, 6, 8 all works well for me

    • Interesting you skipped 5 and was actually the last one with unlimited HQ photos upload

      • 3 worked well for me

    • Nah I have the same problem.

Both I've owned have been great.

  • Thinking of getting Google store to match pixel watch 2 to get pixel 8 pro and pixel watch 2 together..

Anyone price matched on the Google store - was it straightforward??

  • +1

Waiting for Harvey Normans Optus Pixel 9 pro deal

  • Managed to get a price protection refund on my recent pro 8 order with the $500 google store credit deal

$1699 original price, added unidays code, $500 store credit and 10% google one. Submitted a price protection last night with a refund of $342 approved back to my card. Great deal

Used the google store credits for pixel watch 2 and pixel pro buds with the recent JB hifi price matches +10% google one credits added back. Pity can't use google store credit to pay for google one for the remainder of the credit otherwise would have had a hell of a deal

    • Fouiyohhhh you're the real winner

  • Where do you click to sign up for the newsletter?

    • Would also like to know.
Below doesn't want to work on any of my accounts

      https://about.google/intl/ALL_us/email-newsletter-sign-up/

      • Same having no luck . Spent nearly 2 hours using different browsers and links. Even said it worked but no email came.

        • I ended up finding a banner in the middle of the page to sign up and received the code pretty much instantly.

Scroll down its near the bottom although it doesn't work for me. Says subscribed but doesn't send email with code.
Ended up getting subscribed using another gmail but got no promo code with it. Wasted too much time trying to save a few bucks.

    • Signed up for the newsletter using my main account, received a confirmation but no code.
Tried my secondary account… exact same thing.

The $929.10 10% off price + $400 trade in for a 7P + 10% Google One store credit makes this a decent deal.

      • I feel really stupid but it was in my spam folder. I swear I looked there first thing.

        • how long did it take to get your code in your spam? couldnt see anything in my spam after 3 hours - using 2 new gmail accounts :(

          • @longnbtd: I came with the first email that ended up in the spam folder. It was right at the top.
            Try contacting support

      • I didn't get a code but it automatically had the discount applied in the cart.

  • waiting for Motorola Razr 40 ultra <$900

  • Pixel battery life has always been a let down for me as well as random issues that make me feel like an Android software beta tester. I really want to like pixel hardware but always is just not up it.

Competition breeds innovation and quality unfortunately since Huawei, HTC,lg and Sony have effectively exited smartphones quality of Android phones in general has suffered

    • Yeah it does feel like a beta testing phone.

Especially when features end up on other Android phones anyway… After pixel owners put up with the bugs and provide all the data to Google to fix it lol.

  • Thoughts on the Pixel 8 and 8a dropping in price soon to compare with this deal? I have the P7P and feel like it's too big to use comfortably in my hands.

  • +1

Lucked out and was randomly sent a 15% off code from Google today on an existing account.

Redeemed it and it stacked on RRP as well as the 3% Google account store credit.

    So got a 256GB P8P ($1799 RRP) for $901.28!!!

  • Anyone know when this price expires?

    • Ends 11:59pm, Jun 30

  • Anyone manage to get the black in 256gb? It's out of stock. Wondering how long they would typically take to refresh stock

  • +1

I got this deal! Thank you for posting it up.

I ordered late on the 4th and it had been delivered by the 6th.

I've since come to realise I'm absolutely terrible with technology and maybe this phone is overkill. But I've got at least 7 years to figure it out 😅

  • I went to order one of these phones, I had to join a waiting list. Was there something I did wrong?

    • +1

Nothing wrong lol, just means that model has (temporarily) sold out. Buy from JB/OW if you can access discounted gift cards

      • Will OW honor the Google price for a price match + 5% off?

        • Na they won't match a discounted price through a promo code. But you can pretty easily get Officeworks/JB gift cards at 10% off

  • +1

I received an email from Google last week with a 15% discount code for the Pixel Pro 8. The offer expires on 31/07/24. Used the code at checkout and got the Pixel Pro 8 for $844. Thought I'd share in case anyone else is interested!

    • +1

Can you turn on PMs pls :)

  • Signed up to the newsletter with existing Google account and a non-Gmail email. Received the "Thanks for subscribing" emails but I don't see any discount code in them.

Pixel 8 Pro 128 GB is showing up as A$1,093.95 for me after A$5.05 store credit.

Not sure how everyone is getting it for cheaper (w/o trading in a old device).

  • I currently have a samsung 21 (256gb)

    I cannot decide if I want to get a pixel 8 pro or a Samsung 24+ (256gb).

I don't use my mobile for any gaming.

Only banking apps, utilities apps, checking emails etc.

    The camera is important.

I had a nexus 6 before my Samsung.

    • Samsung 24+ is better according to the many YouTube videos I watched.

    • Long term pixel/nexus user here. Unless you want it for photography I’d personally lean towards Samsung. The consistent bugs with my pixel 5 and wife’s 4a5G have turned me off pixel for the time being

      • I never had any issue with my 4a5G. It was in mint condition and was very happy with it until I fell down on my bum and sat on it. A very unfortunate incident.

  • +1

Hello guys, I have tried to subscribe with existing account as well as new Google account. Received a welcome to Google store subscription email but did not receive any code. What am I missing?

    • Same … I don't receive any code.

    • Yup looks like they stopped the discount codes haiyaaa

  • Has anyone received the 10% off code recently in the welcome email?
