  • Needs only to new number? Or I can transfer my number from optus?

    • +1

You can transfer (port) your existing number to Vodafone, with no issues.
When you are setting it up it'll ask if you want a new number or to transfer from another provider.

      • Oh cool

So im with boost thinking of switching to vodafone. Any issues?

Thinking switch around october so should be within 6 months

Just wondering what they mean by unlocking fee?

Also Any idea with stock availability or if they will have this sale again?

        • The unlocking fee refers to your existing phone potentially being locked to another network (Telstra or Optus in this case), which can be the case if you bought your phone in a prepaid kit at some point (usually cheaper phones). In other words, if you transfer to Vodafone and your phone doesn't accept the SIM as it's locked to Telstra or Optus it's your responsibility to pay Optus or Telstra to unlock it to use on all networks.
Vodafone has this sale every couple of months, they certainly have in the past (no guarantee they will again, I guess)
Do you like in a capital city? If not I would check your coverage first.

    • You should be able to port-in when you activate the Vodafone SIM Card.

  • +1

Hopefully their coverage has improved. Was sketchy in my part of metro Sydney, Canberra and poor in WA. meh YMMV.

    • You can always test it with a cheap SIM.

    • +1

Still crap in WA. Perth is just about the only place with reception here. Absolutely no signal in Geraldton, Exmouth, Denham during my trip this year.

      • +2

I live in WA even victoria park has bad conenction tbh

  • +4

Although it's not posted by the OP, yes, it includes 5G at full speed (not shaped) where available.
Best 5G coverage is on an iPhone 14 or above and Pixel 7 or above (covers the new frequencies) and other phones, obviously :)

Was testing the coverage in Sydney a few months back. Was not happy so decided to renew my boost plan. Now I'm even less happy as the coverage in specific areas on Boost is even worse. Not sure what happened but e.g. around Surry Hills library there is no Internet on Boost.
Now thinking if I can survive till the end of the plan and then switch to Voda

    • It’s why I quit Aldi, I would have 5 bars full strength signal in westfields or some areas of the city and get no data as they were prioritising to Telstra full strength customers . Annoyed me no end so I switched to Voda and had no dramas, am with Amaysim now and have no dramas

      • I was with Anaysim for several years, and it was not good.
Boost using full Telstra network so it should be better than Aldi I guess.
For me switch from Anaysim to Boost was a huge improvement. But not I'm not sure what happened

I have one number with Boost and one full Telstra. They have both equally turned to rubbish where I live.

I complained to Telstra (couldn't be bothered with the Boost number). The rep said the end of 3G means the 4G side of the tower is heavily congested. Nothing he can do, but gave me a 12 month credit.

To my surprise, the Telstra rep extended my Boost number. But..I cant read an email around 1pm, so it's useless at our tower.

Gave Voda a go. Internet is good during the day (500k speeds) lightning quick at night 9mb / sec.

Country trip coming up…see how that goes.

        • I went throughout country nsw and Vodafone wasn’t as bad as I expected. Though without 3G for at least calls I dunno how it will go

      • I had the same issue the other weekend in Westfield Carindale QLD

  • does this have any stupid speed caps like boost (150mbps speed cap)?

    • No, that's on their budget brand, Felix.
Not that you can do much on a mobile device above 150Mbps when you only have 20GB per month (240GB/yr), kinda pointless.

    • Once all your data is used, it throttles to 1.5mb/ sec (unlimited) Which is still plenty fast for a mobile device.

Sounds good. Mine about to expire.

    • It's not a recharge though so you'll have to port out & back.

  • +2

    also available in officeworks

Get an extra 10% off when you pay with the Ultimate Gift Cards.

      • Thank you. I will go this way. Ultimate Gift Cards $100 denominations are hard to find lol

  • Is it 2000 per SIM, or per EDR account?

  • Anyway to use this if you are already a Vodafone prepay customer and want to keep your current number?

    • Buy a different prepaid sim. Port your number out. Then port it back again

  • +1

Can I receive SMS while being overseas with this sim.

    • -1

You don't need to spend this much for that. Just buy the Amaysim PAYG plan.

      • +2

Rang Vodafone and roaming works and it's free to receive SMS.

  • If you have amaysim prepaid, and let it expire and wait couple of days then you might get 50% offer $100 a year for 180gb data or roller over data from previous if you have any

    • I received one offer for two long expiry sims that have expired.

  • +1

Have a "spend $150 to get 5000 EDR point", does anyone know if that works with this purchase?

    • I just bought this and had a bonus offer of 10x points if I spent over $150 (I bought a few other things as well) It worked, all up I got 3800 or so points including the 2000 from this deal so it should work.

  • I've been pretty happy with this in Melbs (CBD and inner South and just about anything)

but some blind spots here and there take you by surprise. like when you ride the tram and listen to Spotify and reception goes to nothing at a drop of a hat. and comes back 3 seconds later

I guess sucks to be people living around that spot. no Vodafone for you

    • At the moment, i get that constantly, all around Melbourne, and in with Amaysim/Optus.

  • -1

anyone know can you buy this and transfer an existing Vodafone postpaid number to it?

    • probably port out to some cheap sim and then back in to this deal?

      • Yes, you can always do that. Could even port to their Felix brand for $10 to cover your first month then port to this afterwards.

  • +1

Anyone know if we can get everyday rewards extra 10% off? And if woolworths gift cards can be used to purchase? Thanks :)

    • Did you get confirmation on this?

    • +1

You can use the edr 10% off on this.

      • Thanks Aston,
I confirmed as well 10% EDR works, as well as paying with EDR dollars

        • WOT!!! I just used up my 10% today argh!!! Thanks for the info. Future reference I guess.

  • Does anyone know if the Vodafone prepaid supports call forwarding (e.g to a Telstra number when unavailable / no service?)

  • What happens when the 240gb is used.

  • Rang Vodafone. Yes you are correct once the data is used you have to buy add on if you want data .

  • +1

Does it have free international calls/texts?

    • Looks like you get 50 international texts.

  • Hi all, how to activate Everyday Reward Extra 10% off one shop? Thanks

    • It pops up when you are about to pay and asks if you want to use the monthly 10% off.

      • Thanks for letting me know. How do I link my Every reward card to 10% off?
Do I use the same everyday reward card when I paid for the sim card? Thanks

      • Just ask woolworth. They said that we couldn't use 10% off for simcards

        • They have no clue..even the price on shelves was like 240$ lol…I bought mine yesterday and got 2000 points.

          • @JinTheGod: I bought 3 ultimate for kids gift cards (3 x $50) for $135 in coles then go to officeworks to buy it :D

            • @n2h: It's basically almost same price, the points you get is like 15$ of worth :P

But yeah I would do the same as you if yesterday couldn't be able to take the points .

              • @JinTheGod: 2000 points is only $10. I saved $15 from gift cards and also get flybuy points from coles :D

  • Buy ultimate gift cards at Coles. They having 10 percent off sale. For 135$ you get 150$ value then use that value to buy Officeworks vodaphone Sim for 150$. Only spend 135$ for Sim card

    • This is what i did yesterday, lol
