  • Probably worth trying to get an additional loyalty discount using the in-app chat like with previous deals. You'll need to provide proof of a currently owned Samsung product.

    • +5

I tried this, loyalty discount does not apply in the Education Store.

      • That's a shame. Still very good price though.

    • Loyalty discount also did not work with already discounted price :(

  • just got a 40% off them this morning when i booked my fridge in for another repair

  • Commbank Yello have 10% off samsung store too, not sure if stackable.

    • +1

I believe that's its own separate shopping portal, rather than the "use CommBank card at checkout" dealio.

  • Need some deals on their 85” stuff!
Guess not too much stock to care for

    • It looks like prices are going down dramatically. So 85" shouldn't be too far.

  • +2

The latest 65 inch S90D is around $2164 using same old TV tradeup and 5% shop app discount.

    • Is that WOLED or QD-OLED? Notable difference in colour reproduction.

      • +1

        65" S90D is QD-OLED, same as S90C

        • I don't think this is correct, from what I have read it seems that the S90D in 55"/65"/77" are subject to the Panel Lottery:

          https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=…

Either way, I think I'd prefer to know for sure what I'm getting if it's an OLED. It's reassuring to know that S95D will be QD-OLED for all sizes, it's just a shame it has the matte finish as to me it looks terrible, as OLED is all about pure blacks & you don't get those with the matte finish; but it sounds like some people love it & it fixes their glare challenges in their homes. Personally I'm OK with how my LG panels handle the glare as I like having pure blacks, it's worth the trade off. But I also watch most stuff at night, I'm at work during sunlight hours & out-&-about on weekends so sunlit room isn't really a concern

I reckon the S90D would be better choice if you were guaranteed to get QD-OLED panel & not subject to chance with potentially getting either W-OLED or QD-OLED

          • @Coolhandlucas: I reckon the S90D would be better choice if you were guaranteed to get QD-OLED panel & not subject to chance with potentially getting either W-OLED or QD-OLED

You mean S95D guarantee an QD-OLED panel.
Nevertheless. I've checked the S90D panel at several retails (Jb, Harvey and Good guys) and can assure that all of 55" & 65" S90D are QD-OLED. Its very unlikely to get a WOLED

          • +1

@Coolhandlucas: had no idea about this "lottery". But almost every source I can find says the 65 inch S90D is QD-OLED

        • This is not correct - I bought a S90D from JB Hifi and confirmed it was WOLED which I subsequently returned and replaced with an S95D that has very cheap Samsung EPP prices and best TV in this price bracket.

But the S90C is better than the S90D unless you get lucky with a QD-OLED.

          • @PrimalScream: I based what I wrote on multiple sources who indicate the 65" panel to be QD-OLED, did not know at the time of the comment that with some of them a WOLED panels have been used

  • can someone please check what is the price of DV90T8440SB heat pump dryer on Samsung EDU?

Having experienced Samsung's appalling customer service i would think a million times before buying anything from them

    • +11

      That's a lot of times

    • +1

Hmmm wonder if it's worth the risk

      • +9

        999,999 to go

        • +1

If i have told you once, i have told you a million times, do not exaggerate

    • I was a Samsung fangirl, went all on on their tablets, phones, appliances, SmartThings and hundreds of their sensors etc but they seem to be doing the dirty at every turn lately. The latest they stripped features off both my 2yo Q95 TV's in a firmware update and those features were a big reason for buying them. Next TV won't be Samsung.

      • +3

they seem to be doing the dirty at every turn lately

Lately? They've had a shocking record for at least the last 10 years.

      • What features have gone missing, por favor?

    • +2

I've bought a bunch of phones, TVs, tablets accessories etc directly through their Gov portal over the years and never had any issues.

      YMMV I guess.

    • +1

Completely agree have had nothing but issues with Samsung. Get an LG OLED, more expensive initially but cheaper in the long run considering the time required to arrange the inevitable fixes/replacements/refunds.

      • LG OLED TV’s have their issues as well, such as a pretty major one where their WOLED panels suffer from an issue of developing hundreds of dead pixels around the edges of the screen only a 2-3 years after purchasing a TV with an LG WOLED panel in it. It happened to my LG 2019 C9, it’s happened to other people who also own the C9, as well as LG 2020 CX and 2021 C1 owners, and owners of other LG OLED models, plus OLED TV models released by Panasonic and Sony that have LG WOLED panels in them. Google it, there are quite number of reports about it from other people that it’s happening to who have posted on AVS, and various other sources.

I own Sony’s 2023/2024 flagship 77” a95L QD-OLED TV, which had an RRP of au$9495, and even it has some major issues. TV’s really are just cheap rubbish not made to last (and won’t last 10-15 years) nowadays with regards to the overall quality of the internal and external parts, but they put their brand badge on it and sell consumers their junk at high premium prices.

    • +1

I agree. The service from the call centre was horrendous. We had to esculate our issue and finally got someone in Sydney that was able to help with our delivery.

    • i would think a million times before buying anything from them

At 1s/thought, that equals to about 11.5 days. That's brand commitment.

  • How do you send your old TV to trade up? Especially if you have thrown away your old TV box?

    • +1

They take it when the deliver the new one.

  • +1

This is the best value TV on the market.

You do need to have concerns about poor QA, but when you get one that works these are really good looking TVs.

  • +6

65 inch is too small now a days

  • +2

I like how Samsung jump ship from QLED to OLED lol

    • they still sell qled. Wouldnt recommend buying either from their store tho.

  • This or c4 or g4?

    • +1

      WOLED (MLA) vs QD-OLED.

Ultimately… whatever fits your budget. You aren’t going to regret the PQ of either.

Do you game? LG has great gaming features.
Movie watcher? Samsung uses HDR+ and Lg uses Dolby Vision (DV is more common, especially on physical media).

QD-OLED has better colours, but Samsung has drawbacks.

    • Whatever you can get for cheapest. Dolby Vision doesn't really matter on the Samsungs in this range as it will just encode most content for HDR anyway and at 1000nit+ output won't be a noticeable difference to the average user.

So would be around $1850 without EDU?

  • Any news on the S95C 77 inch in the Edu store? Was sold out a while back and not sure if they restocked?

  • Still waiting on order from last deal. Projected delivery 2 weeks away.

    • HA! I bought a Serif from Samsung and it took them two months to deliver it. Promised two days.

Called Customer Support 5-6 times and finally the delivery partner rocked up and lo and behold!!! they forgot to load it up on the truck!

Had to reschedule the delivery again… luckily it arrived later in the arvo on the same day. never again.

Don't buy Samsung, customer support and the TV interface are terrible…

    • I purchased this TV on the previous deal and the picture is outstanding. The TV interface is horrible though. Especially when trying to change channels.

    • And terrible lifespan

      • +1

Don't know about the latest models but my 12 year old plasma had issues in the 3rd year. Although it was out of warranty Samsung sent a technician over to fix it. It's been going strong ever since.

        • Would definitely have been consumer law warranty.

      • My older Samsungs are still going strong… an old series 8 plasma PS50B850, Curved screen JS9000 (2015?) but i just had my newest one die…
2019 65Q90 apparently the panel has died? Pretty disappointing for a tv that costs that much to just die out of no where!

Im not sure if i'll go Samsung again to replace it? The 75" QN90C price has me tempted…

  • +1

Just a heads up as a S90C owner, it does not have an AUX out, only optical. And if you connect it to a BT speaker, it will show a prompt every time asking if you want to connect. Can get very annoying very fast.

    • I’m not sure if any/many TVs have aux out these days, do they?
Still, good to know for those who need it.

      • My LG77 OLED does, which isnt really old.

        • That so? Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

  • Wouldn't recommend buying a Tv from Samsung. If the TV or Monitor needs a repair or warranty service, you are 1000% screwed. Just check google..

    • That's not true. I had my panel replaced due to dead pixel. It all moved quite quickly but I wish they'd just replaced the TV.

  • Any recommendation on the wall mount for this tv.

Samsung has a slim fit wall mount (wmn-b50eb) seems to be out of stock at the moment

      Vogel's Thin 546 full-motion

  • The 90C is outstanding, I'm a fan.

  • Is this discount the same a samsung epp like the corporate discounted store ?

  • +1

Thanks op, i managed to grab one of the 65 s90c Oled tvs on friday afternoon through my corporate portal for the same price. Ended up trading a 15yo 19" analogue lcd that i had that still works. Received a text from ANC around 3am Saturday morning with tracking & that delivery is booked for the 26th. Samsung updated it to shiped on the same day. Its replacing my just over 3yr old Hisense 65Q8 that started billowing smoke from the top. Hisense offered a replacement 65 U7 or a store credit but i managed to get a refund through Harveys. Hopefully this ends up being a better experience.
