If you've been HODLing for the past couple of years, hopefully this deal*** is a welcome addition to your Monday.

While it's no ATL, if you're able to get a coupon via the Dell SPP, have already been caught in the breach or plan to strike it rich with the currently running double points for EOFY this deal might just be for you.

Just a quick heads up from "Larry" via a review from Dell - Your mileage may vary even amongst 27" Dell monitors depending on which one you've got:

Built like a tank, but not perfect
This is the type of monitor arm that you can ride into battle with. Extremely robust with great customizability, these arms are well thought-out (even has clips in the cable covers to hold the allen key tool!).

The additional VESA mount is great for support of monitors that don't use Dell's quick release system, but even old-ish Dell monitors with the quick release system don't work perfectly. I have an S2417DG which, to my eyes, has a valid quick release interface, but the monitor arm's mount just doesn't want to click into place at the bottom. I think it has something to do with the plastic housing tolerance/threshold being slightly different from the SD2417DG's monitor stand, so I just can't tilt the monitor forward/back without it popping out of the mount. Fortunately, I don't need to touch them often, so I'm fine with it being a little loose.

Overall, great monitor arms if you never want to buy another one again. Just be cautious that even some Dell monitors might not work with it.

Just buy two North Bayou H80s or H100s and save yourself $300.

Yeah that's my set up I have atm, was trying to figure out the exact benefit of the one posted especially with how much it costs.

      • Reviews seem to be pretty stoked with it but then again, it's unlikely that everyone is as familiar with its alternatives. 'Build quality' seems to be the common theme across reviews so my guess would be that they were in the market for some specific hardware itch that this just happened to scratch. Whether it's uniquely qualified to do so, or if you'd be better off with something else is subject to subjectivity.

      Agreed.

Never do dual arm unless you absolutely have to, for some unknown reason.

You will have way more flexibility with multiple single arms.

      • There's also the NB H180 if you're looking for a dual 17-27" stand.

Get 2 singles not dual and thank me later.

This, two singles are much better when fine tuning your monitor angles

Agree with all comments to date, especially CyberMurning and Mater Bates. I bought the MDA20 in 2022 because it was marginally cheaper than 2 x MSA20s. I've got my WFH monitors set up as one directly in front of me, one on the left on an angle, and there is one position that I can set them up in such that I can see all of both screens (i.e., no overlap) and there isn't a gap between the screens. It's OK, but the screen on the left is not in a great position.

That said, very happy with the MSA20 I bought for my gaming monitor. Still expensive when on sale, but easy to use and rock solid.

  • I clicked through to check out why all the negs (it's a good way to keep in the loop with scams, bad reviews and the like).

The negs all seem like personal opinions and nothing to do with the quality of the product or seller (at least at the time of me posting this comment)…

I always read that these Dell dual monitor arms were some of the best quality (although I've bought some cheapo dual monitor arm with almost no adjustment and it's worked perfectly fine for my 'set and forget' use scenario).

really? I haven't read anything much about dell arms. I read a lot about ergotron though and their arms look a lot stronger than the dell ones. dell ones look a bit thin especially where they connect to the desk mount.

Also clicked through to see the negs…

Yes not the cheapest mounts on the market but I've had both the H80's and the MSA20's (2 singles) and would pay the difference to get Dell. These arms are rock solid and much nicer overall. Yes both are monitor arms that just hold your monitors but I find the Dell much nicer to maneuver and don't frustrate the heck out of me when I'm doing smaller tweaks.

+1 to avoiding a dual mount. They are very annoying when you try to fine tune.

    • +1

Same as you have the NB and Dell single mount. The NB is great, but the Dell is better designed and engineered

  • What are some good single stands? My 15" laptop screen has been partially obscuring my dual monitors for the longest time now..

    • +2

@eraser215 recommended the NB H80 (Can't seem to find it, but there is the F80) or H100, but if you still want to use laptop display they also have the H100-FP-G, all three look like solid choices based on their reviews. There's also the Dell MSA20 which is their single arm equivalent from dell.

      • F80! My bad.

trawl facebok marketplace and you'll see plenty of dual monitor arms with monitors for a 3rd of the price .

  • still waiting 2 years for the MSA20 to go back on sale SMFH

  • My desk is around 1m deep. Are there any arms that extend this far?

I mainly need the length to record guitar playing and see the screen close up while sitting slightly away from my desk, but also for sitting back and watching movies etc occasionally.
