Upcoming chinese grinder brand throwing their hats in for the conical burr grinder single dosing market, they have been around with their previous products the edge and edge plus which the edge plus in my opinion really does compete with niche zero.

55mm Conical burr grinder with stepless adjustment, at a pretty good price of under 300 aud.

For someone who has a DF83v atm and want conical burr for medium and darker roasted coffees/filter, I'm willing to try my luck at this grinder.

They have a super simple magnetic chute design where coffee grinds can be easily cleaned and help with reducing retention.

I don't have much expectations for their customer service as they are based in China however with a previous grinder they had a stalling issue on lighter roasts of beans (around >10% development time) and rectified it pretty quickly by changing the design of the conical burrs and sending it out to anyone who reached out.

For anyone who is wanting to get into the coffee game, I do think this is a fantastic piece of kit if it performs as well as it should considering the price.

Based off their youtube videos it definitely does seem a lot of thinking went involved, by having a choke point on the entrance of the beans, it would help the beans collpase into the grinder at a more controlled rate as well as help with anti pop corning.

    279 is a decent price, it was 360 with gst before sale, dropped down to 265 with sale.

  My grinder arrived on Sunday so I've only had time to do two shots before work. Taste wise coffee seems good and no issues with the using the bellow causing the dial setting to change or magnetic chute rubbing against anything but there are a few small things that annoy me and not like it as much as I want to (This is my first electric grinder so maybe I need to reset my expectations a bit):

  1. There seems to a bit a of spray of fine ground coffee around the base. The included cup is definitely a bit too small. Having it shoot into a Blind Shaker seems to help a bit but there's still grounds all around the base of the grinder. In terms of weight, its probably only 0.1g but means it requires a bit of clean up each time you use it.

  2. Beans getting stuck on the sides of the hopper, as darkkito mentioned above. Made more annoying by needing to remove the bellow to check, push any stragglers in, then reinstall the bellow.

    I think tl;dr for anyone who is joining this forum, the grinder makes spectacular coffee, does the job of having near 0 retention. Much better than anything at this price point. However workflow is a bit of pain. Also some quality control issues.
