Lowest price I've ever seen on these, one of the best on the market by far. $74.98 price achievable with $40.00 coupon off the current sale price of $114.98, so don't forget the coupon. Some may prefer the WiFi version which is also on sale, but not at such a good price ($127.99).

  • Damnit, that's a great deal… I love my doorbell. Integrated with the Reolink addon for Home Assistant.

  • +4

For anyone deciding, I would purchase first and decide later.

Reolink most likely forgot to remove the coupon, so two sales are stacking (Amazon's Mid Year Sale + $40 off Coupon)

    • It's been on sale for under $85 before so this is just a little discount from that

  • +4

Just keep in mind this is POE. Unlike POE cameras which give you a greater flexibility with positioning than a doorbell does, as ideally this needs to be very close to the doorway. That creates issues for self installers who dont have much experience in CAT cabling.

If you do have that experience then you will know what I mean and it then wont be an issue.

As someone who have the POE cameras I'd love this, but know that its going to be hard for me to conceal all the cables in my home.

Check out the wifi one when they're next on sale, I've got one running off dodgy existing doorbell wires which the dinosaurs used and it's been great

  • Installed one a couple of months ago . Integrated with existing reolink NVR really easily . Works great .

    • When using it with an existing NVR, how easily do you receive notifications and then interact through the camera with your phone? Or am I expecting too much?

      • +1

I installed it for an elderly friend who is as deaf as a post , It comes with a wireless ringer that plugs into a power point that is quite loud .
When she hears that she can touch a button on her phone and see and talk to whoever is at the front door . Mostly just see …
Next time we visit I will attempt to get it to notify her phone that will vibrate her fitbit . Thats how she knows that her phone is ringing .
I just didn't have enough time last time I visited .

        • touch a button on her phone and see and talk

That's what I'm hoping it can do, is just interact with the person at the front door easily. The reolink app isn't the most convenient way to interact, but I'll wait to see what it's like when it arrives.

@Lizard Spock: I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how consumer ready it is .

            • +1

@troyww: I just tested it out. It's pretty good and pretty responsive. Video quality is not the best, but I was testing it out indoors rather than outside where it will ultimately live. 😊

  • Is it easy to get power setup to these from outside lights ?

    Edit. Nevermind

    • +1

      not really.

    • +1

You're better off getting wifi version and using thinner (vs. POE cable) two core cable if running cables is going to be an issue

  • Also note that the wifi one has an ethernet port (but can't be powered by it) - if that suits your install better :)

  • -1

can you plug POE cable into a wifi mesh extender?

    • +1

      Yes.

Will it work? Unlikely. More information needed. What is a POE cable anyway? Do you mean ethernet cable?

    • +1

You'll likely need a POE injector

    • +2

You’d probably need to buy a poe injector and supply it power, both can be had on aliexpress

    • +1

Yes. I bought the wifi versiin for my front gate. I have great wifi in the front yard but didnt consider on the other side of a sandstone fence. I had streaming issues. Luckily theres external gpo close by, so i put an AP out there and ran ethernet from that to the doorbell.

      Works great.

    • Not same setup but I used one Poe for unifi AP, one Poe for reolink camera. Ethernet between Poe injector and that worked. So guess in your case need one Poe injector and connect Poe to doorbell and other end in mesh if it's powered. Are you thinking of piggy back from front lights power?

  • Biggest issue with this is it really needs to ring so you can answer it like a phone. And it's not easy to set a custom sound for the phone notification.

    Other than that, good.

    • +1

There a firmware available on the website that has a ring function in it but unfortunately it breaks the push notifications so I had to back load.

So it would seem they are working on it and it might be possible in the future

  • Thanks, I ordered the Wi-Fi version hopefully it’s decent

  • Which is better? This or the Aqara G4 Smart Doorbell? Can it be used without the Reolink app or (or with third party apps)?

    • This

Yes can use with Home Assistant

From memory this supports ONVIF so depends what app you want to use

      • Could you please elaborate a bit why this one is better than the Aqara one?

        • +1

I use Home Assistant so prefer less locked down ecosystems. I also don't need pure battery operation or HomeKit that the Aqara supports, although you may need these for your use case.

          • +1

@bdl: Fair enough. I’m more concerned about performance and reliability but thanks for the comments.

  • Whats the difference between this and wifi version ? I can see wifi also support ethernet plugin.

    • +1

This has no wifi and is powered with POE.

Wifi has rich notifications if you subscribe with cloud

Can use pushover.net with email to DIY rich notifications

rich notifications = notification on phone with video snapshot

      • Rich notifications also super easy if using home assistant with PoE version.

  • How's this compare to the ring video doorbell?

    • Ring needs subscription

    • +2

Got a ring and honestly it is quite crap. By the time someone rings you have to wait few seconds for the notification and usually they left by then. Guess they changed so takes bit longer so people get sub to review who rang. We got 1000/50 FTTP and good wireless signal. Not gonna renew with ring. Got reolink cameras and one at front door. That notifies 2-3 seconds before ring when someone Infront of door. Just renting so don't wanna drill for the Poe. Was tempted to get it though as reolink is awesome so far. (4 cameras)

  • I bought this just in case, but anyone have the eufy double camera doorbell and switched to this?

Curios how bad the FOV downgrade will be

  • If I go with this, do I need to go full reolink system? NVR, cameras..

    • No

  • +1

I about to go on the wifi doorbell but checking the installation video, still need to run power cable to it. So not much different from poe version.
Anyone know any similar doorbell does have battery?

    • +1

Do you already have a wired doorbell? You can use those wires with an appropriate power supply to power the wifi one

      • -1

No I dont have any exising doorbell. The doorbell I currently using is the zigbee switch pair with a zigbee gateway. It works but no video :)

    • Don't know why you got downvoted, I'm also looking for a battery option.

      • +2

battery version is on the roadmap (and looks like it has package detection too)
        https://reolink.com/roadmap/

I just subscribed haha even though I have the wifi one.

        • Thanks for the link, I just subbed too.

  • Anyone happen to get a screenshot they could share?

  • +1

Gawd dammit I missed it again
