      Given it's an up front discount that isn't tied to Flybuys accounts I'd say you could make 5 transactions which 1 card each. The only problem would be that a staff member may stop you from doing it this way at a staffed checkout or give you the gift card scam spiel and/or refuse to authorise the transactions at self checkout.

    Asked Coles staff member stocking gift card shelf - said only the $50s were part of the promotion.

    On another note, does anyone know (or have done) whether I can use these to purchase a Miele dishwasher from TGG? When checking out online, it leads me to the the Miele website which makes me think that the POS is with Miele and not TGG.

    If ultimate gift cards do not work, would exchanging to TGG gift cards work otherwise?

    I went to four Coles stores and they were all sticklers for the 5 limit policy and only had $50 cards. Called it quits at 20 as not only time consuming but that was already a lot of work for both me and the poor girl at Office Works (price beat Costco iPhone 15 Pro Max so $1776 and then saved $100 using all these cards so grand total $1676).

    I'm a little confused by the naming of some of these cards in store, there's one that says "The ultimate gift to say Thank You" which you can select $50-$500 on it. Another one just says "Gift Card" for $100, are they all covered under the same umbrella and get the 10% off?

      No, that one won't be covered. There's several different "Ultimate" gift cards, but only the ones specifically mentioned in the promo have the discount. So "Her", "Teen" etc will be discounted, but "Him", "Thank You", etc will not be.

      Also, this promo excludes variable load, meaning you only get the discount on the ones with a fixed value, like $30 or $50. The ones that vary from $50-$500 are not discounted.

        From memory the discount gets applied at the end of the checkout process, so they get scanned at full price then a discount happens in the final steps of the checkout. I was doing a shop with the weekly groceries so I didn't notice until I got home.

    whole thing was degrading but got 10 x$50, while my post tonsillectomy 4yr old was running around like a maniac. first lot i purchased from checkout and the second from self-checkout.

    Been wanting a google wifi pro 3-pack, so officeworks price beat bing lee. Started sweating when one of the cards wouldn’t go through at OW, some sticky wax left on it i guess.

        There's no limit per account. In fact you don't even need to scan your flybuys to receive the discount. The 5 card limit is purely just per person per day at that particular Coles if the staff member chooses to enforce it.

    Could anyone confirm if the student ultimate gift card actually works at IKEA? The ones on the rack at my local Coles doesn't have the IKEA logo on it.

      As long as you saw the Visa version (which uses either of these designs), it does not matter whether the IKEA logo was on the front of the Ultimate Students gift card you saw.

      The source of truth for participating retailers is the Ultimate gift card website (as outlined by the Ultimate gift card terms and conditions. If you look at the back of recently-produced Ultimate gift cards with One4All branding added to it, it even says:

      Notwithstanding a logo appearing on the card, the merchant may not be available.

      The participating retailers change on Ultimate gift cards at least one every few weeks, but Ultimate gift cards are only produced in batches every few months. IKEA was added as a participating retailer in late July 2023,, but the Visa version of Ultimate Students gift cards were first produced in 2021. Any Visa versions of Ultimate Students gift cards have IKEA as a participating retailer.

      The reason I mention Visa versions is that Ultimate gift cards used to be sold as eftpos gift cards. Those should not be sold at Coles anymore, but if they are still being sold at a Coles you go to for some strange reason, those are not accepted at IKEA. (You can read more about how to spot differences between Visa and eftpos versions here.)

        Are you using the correct expiry date for your Ultimate gift card?

        You can find the expiry date to use for exchanging your gift card on the balance check website for physical Ultimate gift cards.

          Using the balance check website and entering PCN, I got "We were unable to process your information. Please try again.". I only bought the cards this afternoon. Do I need to wait 24hrs?

            @Tsquared: Ultimate gift cards should be activated within seconds of the purchase being approved at the store.

            • Does the purchase receipt show that the purchase of your gift card was approved?

            • Does the last three numbers of the PCN match the last three numbers shown on the purchase receipt?

            If the answer to both questions is yes, it sounds like something is delaying the activation of your gift card. If you are still unable to check the balance tomorrow, it would be best to contact Blackhawk Network to see whether they can shed some light on what is taking so long for your gift card to be activated.

        for the exchange portal you use the card number instead of the PCN and the expiry is usually 12/29

      The Ultimate Everyone gift card webpage (which is also linked in the deal description) tells you how each participating retailer accepts Ultimate Everyone gift cards.

      In the case of Uber / Uber Eats, the webpage says the only way Ultimate Everyone gift cards are accepted is through Exchange for eGift. That means you need to go to the Ultimate gift card exchange portal and exchange the full or partial balance of your Ultimate Everyone gift card for an Uber / Uber Eats gift card. The Uber / Uber Eats gift card can then be added to your Uber / Uber Eats account (and behaves like an Uber / Uber Eats gift card you obtain anywhere else).

      Btw, if you do not know what expiry date to use for physical Ultimate Everyone gift cards to access the exchange portal, you can obtain it by checking the gift card’s balance.
