@aparasher: But only if you keep those thoughts to yourself 🤣

Fear mongering holds back society from progressing towards the greater good

Labelling opinions you disagree with as 'fear mongering' then somehow 'holds back society' from 'progressing towards the greater good'? What a wacky bunch of ideas. Do tell us how you think all of that works, I'm genuinely curious.

                • @1st-Amendment: Well how does encouraging negative views of EVs due to range of only 400kms or there abouts help progress society towards reducing petroleum dependencies? If one naysayer spruiks this view then obviously some people for which this in real terms has no impact on will be negatively influenced.
But I guess I'm trying to reason with someone who has unreasonable or illogical rationale so really there's no much point. Natural selection and evolution will prevail anyway

So being honest is negative? You think hiding real information from people is helping them?

progress society towards reducing petroleum dependencies?

What 'progress' specifically? Paying more for something that does less is not progress IMO. I would've thought progress is paying less for more.

If one naysayer spruiks this view then obviously some people for which this in real terms has no impact on will be negatively influenced.

So this implies that only opinions that agree with yours are allowed. Sounds very 1984. That isn't progress either IMO, it is extremely backwards.

Natural selection and evolution will prevail anyway

                    Eh?

                    • @1st-Amendment: Eh I give up, your choice and views.
I'm a glass half full kinda person. EVs are a good way forward. I hope there's enough public support to continue to help drive investment in innovation and advancement in this area rather than looking at ways to further optimise fossil fuels

But EV's are the half empty part of the glass. They cost more and do less. So really, you're a glass half empty glass person masquerading as a glass half full person.

I hope there's enough public support to continue to help drive investment in innovation and advancement in this area

Sure, but the innovation has to be real and not imagined. And pretending that the current limitations don't exist doesn't make them go away.

rather than looking at ways to further optimise fossil fuels

Why? If solution A is demonstrably better than solution B, why do want want Solution A to fail? That is not innovation, that is an ideological crusade.

  • Im going a 180 and saying the GT version of this is actually really nice i just walked past one at Chadston and dead set it looks mich better in actual life then any of the marketing
