Near ATL for amazon. Had set a camel notification for when it dropped under $20. Has only been under $20 twice before on amazon.

      Check reviews. It's fake.

ah ok, didn't know there were fake card/ board games jeez

        • Then your mind will be blown when you start looking into it. Not exactly rocket science printing on paper. But there are massive quality differences..

Avoid amazon for card games until they take some ownership of the counterfeit copies either co-mingling or are just outright all they are stocking.

Almost at the point these posts on ozbargain should be banned until the situation improves.

I bought the uno one, fake of course. And added a review as such with comparative photos to a real one. Was rejected from being published.

    • yup… just like when Splendor goes on sale for $20 on amazon, turns out they're all poor quality counterfeits.

      • Yeah, sad state of things, can't rely on Amazon or Ebay for genuine card (and board) games.

I find that about 7/10 times they arrive as knockoffs.

Might as well just buy the 'extra cheap' 'known fake' Ebay ones while both sites are this unreliable.

    • What did they say when you asked for refund?

BTW, I have a tonne of original games from Amazon, for cheap.

was this from AMAZON AU or a third party seller?

This one is sold and shipped by Amazon AU. i.e. Not sold by third party seller.

It is also part of the actual Exploding Kittens Store on amazon.

There are reports (mostly from the States) that Amazon mixes both official and third party products together in the same "bins". I imagine games that are going to be affected the most by this are the really popular games that are also easy to counterfeit. Card based games would be at the top of the list.

I've bought a lot of games from Amazon and I don't believe I've received any fakes. I'm definitely more of a hoarder than player (at least at this point in time) but I try to make a point these days to at least open the box and check out what's inside. What I should be doing is checking to see all the components are there so I can rectify the problem in a timely matter. I can't really go through and count all the cards but do try to make sure at least all the bags, instructions and sheets of punch out componenets etc etc are there.

Amazon have generally been very good when I've run into a problem. I bought a used game once and the shrink wrap for the box and all the cards had already been removed. I did go and count all the cards and some were missing so Amazon refunded the money with basically no pushing from me. I have been a little hesitant to buy Used games since then though. I think if you get a fake, it shouldn't be too hard to get a refund.

Clicking the link now goes to 3rd party seller at $29.79. Deal is cooked.

    • Ta.

    • Or more appropriately, the kitty has exploded.
