Samsung 55" S95C QD-OLED 4K Smart TV (2023) $1836 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

170

This must be a pricing mistake.

$1836 - S95C: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-55-s95c-qd-oled-4…
$2252 - S90C: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-55-s90c-qd-oled-4…

The S95C is the higher end model but it $400 cheaper? I don't think so.

Purchased mine yesterday, so, can confirm they will honour it.

Cheapest (available to everyone) that I can see in the OZB history.

First time poster, please let me know if I have missed anything.

same price at TGG, price beat gets to $1826

I would wait for the s95D, that Matte screen upgrade is a gamechanger

I prefer this S95C - side by side it has more 'pop' without the matte screen and is less than half price.

Heading towards the S95D price there are a lot more options in that space i.e. LG G4

The matte screen has very mixed reviews.

      • I saw the S95D lined up with the S90D & LG C4 on a shelf at JB at Macquarie Park in Sydney. The S95D looks inferior to both, store had animated movie running & the black bars at top & bottom suffer badly from crushing on the S95D. Yes, there are bright lights in store but that is the condition where the matte screen is meant to shine, so-to-speak

I wouldn't call it a mistake. It's been much cheaper directly via Samsung before https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/845382

In fact I got mine delivered yesterday from that deal

    • Is that with all the qualifiers like trade up, loyalty and edu?

That's why in my descriptions I said "available to everyone"

Next time I must try those fancy ones with the discounts!

      • just loyalty, but that was also just for $200. So without the loyalty, I would've gotten it for 1598

Saw this too a few days ago when I got their Perk email about a one-day 10% off.

It would have brought it down to $1652 but delivery was unavailable (only store pick up) so decided against it.

I’m waiting for another Samsung store promo. The delivery alone for me is worth a wait.

  • Unavailable in Brisbane, won't deliver and closest store with stock is Dubbo lol

  • I got the 55" S95c from good guys a couple of weeks back for $1620 delivered, you need to call them to get that price though. Listed price is the same as JB.

  • For gaming, I've heard the S90C may be better the better buy (if pricing is similar, which I realise it isn't here), as the OneConnect box on the S95C adds latency and reduces HDMI 2.1 bandwidth.

    • Not enough to affect any current consoles or most pc gaming. If you can output at 8k 120fps or more it might be a problem but other than that you would be good

it was 14xx a month ago in JB HiFi

  • If u buy it for gaming and you get blackouts, make sure to return asap and exchange. I did it the hard way, had to go through samsung support, then 2nd level support, and then finally a tech came out to replace the PCB in the one connect box. Works like a charm now

    • you get blackouts

is it like screen goes black with VRR or something like that ?

      • +1

Idk if the issue is isolated to jus vrr, but I have HDR, VRR and 120hz all enabled

        • ah me too, but I selected as 144 Hz as I remember in my S90C, still works well though.

    • I had my PCB replaced today but the issue persists. Is yours fixed or did it come back? Also, did you have to update TV Firmware after PCB was replaced?

      • Still running fine without blackouts. Updated as well

        • Thanks. Is that when using 4k HDR 144hz?

          • @leeson865: 4k HDR 120hz cos on PS5

            • @Ozvalue: Oh wow! Mine never did it at 4K 120. Yours must have been especially bad. Mine only ever did it at 4K 144 on PC.

I seen it happen a couple of times but that hasn't been during gameplay. More like some loading screen where the frame rate's probably all over the place or something so I'll continue monitoring it

I just bought one of these for $1754 (+$55 delivery) from TGG using 4.5% bupa gift cards. Seems that there is very limited stock as it is now shown as out of stock again.

Overall happy with that price as the lower S90C model without the one connect box is more expensive on other sites atm and the 2024 model s95d is almost double this price rrp.

Reckon the 2023 models won’t be available much longer for the reduced prices but will be replaced with the 2024 stock.

    • I agree! I am happy with mine too! Plus the S95D has a matte screen which a lot of people are not happy with!

      • Mine will be delivered today and I can't wait.
I still think this was a massive discount as the same model is now back up to almost double at $3234 (https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/samsung-55-inches-s95c-4k-ole…). On the same day there was a Shopback 15% deal without caps for TGG which I sadly missed out on. With that it would have been $1560 for that model which sounds very cheap.

Hope the TV is all good and doesn't need a warranty / return for whatever reason.

        • Wow! Yea, some of the sticker prices are insane. I watched the Barbie movie on Netflix and the colours were brilliant
