      • No it's not my email. It seems the original owner has got this linked to their account. It's even addressed to another person in the sms.

  • No free pints available, (profanity) me

  • +1

one and only time I get the notification, I do it as soon as it came in and it says no pints available…bloody hell

  • +1

Nothing happens when I click the button to claim

  • +1

Two days in a roll I got email and I filled in details and it said I will receive SMS soon, SMS never arrives

    • did it have no pints available up the top though. It says it will send an sms even if it says that, but it won't if there aren't any left

  • +2

The Guinness Facebook promo page finally (sort of) explained how this works. Took them long enough.

“ Hey Matt, sorry to hear you haven’t been able to claim a free Guinness yet. The optimal outdoor temperature for a Guinness is actually 9 degrees! You’ll receive a notification from the Brewery of Meteorology at 9am when the conditions are perfect.”

    And

“ If the perfect conditions hold overnight you will receive a notification at 9am to be in the running to claim one of the 140 allocated cards for that day. You can then redeem the cards at a venue or retailer. Hope this makes sense!”

(Still huge leeway of interpretation on ‘holds overnight’, but it looks like exactly 9 degrees is what you need, at night and at 9am.)

Yes. Huge waste of time from poorly worded comms.

    • +1

Which is weird. Only now i see that on the page it indicates at 9 degree.

    • The code for checking if it's "Guinness weather" is

      isLocalGuinnessWeather:uV.data.forecast.forecastday[0].day.mintemp_c < 9.5

The forecast data comes from weatherapi.com looking like this and it just checks if mintemp_c is less than 9.5.

It's just the forecast min temp for the day.

  • For anyone still ‘playing’ there are 500 odd cards tomorrow for the winter solstice.

I finally got one today. No alert. No notification. No visual recognition that I would on any of the promo pages, but by submitting the claim form yet again, at exactly 10am, when it had been 9 degrees at 9am and overnight, I got the vault redemption text.

    Good luck!

    • +1

been smashing it for 16 minutes, seems like either broken or they turned off submission

      • Try Microsoft edge browser (if you can be arsed) the button actually worked on that one

        • Not anymore

          • @Perk: yeah went on edge too late, seems like request goes through but now im getting rate limited

    • I take it to mean there were 500+ available today.

They lasted a lot longer today than other days.

      • 500+ available but probably 1 single user just brute force taking them all.

        • Nah 1 card per mobile number. And they've stuffed it up so it only lets you get one every 2 days.

  • nothing works, haha, does it mean it has to be 9 deg from yesternight till 9am this morning?

    • Current day's min forecast temp.

      • So min forecast. Not actual?
App was saying 10degc. Actual weather (BoM) 6degc.

        • mintemp according to weatherapi.com

  • +1

Scam promo never, received the voucher

  • They didn't have any available today…

  • So they just silently pulled the promo early? None made available for 3 days now

  • Scam!!! Last day and can’t submit the form.

Its 10am. Can claim Guinness but the website must be under heavy traffic, as no matter what browser I use the submit button does
    Nothing!
