Promotional Period
Start date: 01/06/24 at 09:00 am AEST
End date: 30/06/24 at 11:59 pm AEST or once all gifts available are exhausted

Eligible claimants
Claims are only open to Australian residents who are 18 years and over.

How to Claim
To claim a gift, the claimant must complete the following steps during the Promotional Period:

  • Visit www.breweryofmeteorology.com.au, follow the prompts to the Promotion claim page; and fully complete and submit the online claim form with their personal details (first name, last name, date of birth, email address, phone number, postcode) and opt into these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter’s Privacy Policy and receipt of Guinness marketing emails;

  • Save the progressive web app “Brewery of Meteorology” to their home screen and turn on push notifications and location services for their device;

  • When the temperature drops in the user’s location below 9 degrees Celsius (based on the user’s postcode and the temperature recorded on the Bureau of Meteorology website) the user will receive a push notification that the weather has dropped below 9 degrees and an SMS with instructions, an activation code and a link to download the Vault payments app; and

  • Claimants must follow the prompts to download the Vault payments app onto their device and enter the activation code provided and their mobile number and claim from a participating venue or Dan Murphys store as instructed.

Claimants must redeem the gift by the date/time specified within the SMS otherwise the gift will be forfeited.

Claims are strictly limited to five hundred and twenty-five (525) claims on the First Day of Winter and the Winter Solstice and one hundred and forty (140) claims on each remaining day of the Promotional Period. Should there remain a surplus of gifts for any given day such gifts shall roll over to the next day of the Promotional Period.

Gift Description
The gift is a Guinness-branded $20 Prepaid Digital Card redeemable for a pint of Guinness at any participating venue or Dan Murphy’s store in NSW or VIC. See the “Brewery of Meteorology” web app to locate participating venues and Dan Murphy's store locations in NSW or VIC.

      It's merchant locked, but yes you can buy anything at a participating venue.

    Just wanted to share that I just tried to use it via apple pay at BWS and it got declined. I am guessing it is actually tied to Dan Murphy’s then. Anyone else have any luck or even online purchases?

    Right on midnight the page refreshed and it isn't showing that "all cards are allocated for today" but instead says to claim free Guunness. Enter details and it comes up with "no free pints available". I'll try again at 9am as that might be when they're allocated for the day, otherwise this promo is hit or miss and is just a competition

          I think that's the 'pre-registration' messaging.

          There should be a 'claim now' button after registration if pints available (from memory)

          I don't think todays have dropped yet.

    It looks like the 'not now' messaging variations are:

    A: (Too warm or not uploaded today's pints yet) : "We will let you know via email and SMS as soon as the temp drops " (Even when it's cold enough)

    B: All claimed for today.

    So the promo is basically 'You have 5 mins from when we decide to do the drop today, if you are in the right temperature zone' (Or your chopper works).

    Everyone registered in the 'cold' postcodes get an automatically triggered email/SMS/push notification, so that's the starting gun.

    It's very badly worded all round, and obviously written by a copywriter briefed before the mechanics were locked in properly.

    The last 2 years were much easier to grab a pint, pre-ozbargain knowing about the promo 😉

    Today’s free pints all gone. Not sure if it started at 10am like yesterday but must’ve gone within minutes. Less allocation compared to yesterday from now on so got to be quick.

    I got the gift card yesterday, can confirm that it works at Dan Murphy’s for any product/s to the value of $20

    I bought a bottle of great nothern, a better beer, a vadka milkshake and some beef brisket bites for $20.04

    Gift card covered $20 (there’s no transaction fee like at the pubs) and had to pay the remaining 4 cents in cash

        It's not known yet. I've been 'somewhere cold' at 12pm, 8am, 9am and 10am.

        Last year I grabbed one just after midnight.

        Yesterday was meant to be 9am, but wasn't working properly and ended up being around 10am.

        There's no 'sold out' sign yet. So i think they might be staggering the times daily now. (It's also Sunday, so they might not be watching things that closely.)

        Push emails/alerts go out when they go live to people who registered postcodes that hit the temp at that time.

        I think it got released at 10. Tried at 9 and 9.30 no dice - got the no pint available message. Tried again at 10.01, got the allocation exhausted message. Gone in 60 seconds

    I've not even seen the 'exhausted' message since Saturday, and never had a notification (are they SMS only?) despite it being below 9 degrees here since saturday. Which makes no sense with the copy on the page.

    I'm beginning to think they literally allocate a number of vouchers to a number of phone numbers and link them.

    Scam. 10am seems to be the allocation open time. Tried filling in form at 9.59am, can claim free Guinness but when submitting form said no free pint available. 10am again claim free Guinness but can’t submit form. Tried on multiple browsers no luck. 10.05am allocation exhausted.

    so I got an SMS to claim this, downloaded the Vault app and it preloaded it to a random number. I can't add it to Google wallet because it's linked to the other number of course. security issues?!
