Be aware you cannot choose your own extras providers, ONLY the ones on the HCF providers list.
Not mentioned to us when we asked about moving funds nor on the HCF extras webpage.

This means for example, that you cannot continue to use the dentist you may have been using prior to moving to HCF.

Also, personal experience, we never had the 'clearance certificate' from the previous fund followed up by HCF, we never got the initial week's free and had their call centre hang up on us numerous times.

    Avoid.

    • Is this true? If so seems wild! Surely they need to disclose that to potential customers?

      • Phone and ask them if you need to hear it for yourself.

    • Does that mean that I have to go to their list of optometrists to get new glasses instead of my usual?

      • Phone and ask them if you need to hear it for yourself.

    • True. too bad with HCF and gave you a big surprise

visited my dentist this week and surprised by the amount allowed to claim.

Was with Bupa before can claim $200 but now only $100 with HCF with same level of cover. The reason my dentist explained is because HCF runs its own dental centre so they try to lower the amount payable to private dental centre.

Same thing as teech cleaning you can have twice with Bupa/Medibank but only one with HCF every year.

    Avoid HCF

    • any reason why? I am interested as my employer offers corporate cover with HCF with excess reduction and discount

Also sharing that it took weeks of follow ups to get my last One Big Switch voucher, and also had issues with HCF and the clearance cert. Although i did sign up for this offer i would avoid as plenty of other in market offers.

I’m on the previous one big switch offer with HCF and haven’t been given my free weeks. Won’t be churning to them again.

  • I was on this deal a year ago and got my free weeks and GC in time. Personally I had no issues. Definitely better experience than I have with BUPA.

Wonder if something's changed this year within HCF.
