Couldn't find anything, but I went to store and can confirm it works at the register, you just can't pre-order for the store via the app.

          • -1

@G-rig: Lucky you as the other comment indicated that it occurs on Android as well.

              • +2

@G-rig: The takeaway bags are so sturdy, you can pour the chips out of the cup and let the bag soak the oil off the chips for a couple of minutes.

Just don't put that bag on the floor or any furniture, it's going to be greasy.

My comment is a bit /s, but 100% real.

                • @pizzaguy: Lot of waste in all those bags for some chips, but funny it serves another purpose in the end.
                  Prefer freshly cooked KFC chips.

                • @pizzaguy: That's a legit tip.

That actually happened to me, but not on purpose, including greasing up the furniture. Luckily the furniture had a removable fabric cover.

                  • @phrank: Yeah, similar story here.

Remember not to throw it into recyclables once soaked in oil.

  • After a few days working now the app seems to take forever at payment stage. Is anyone experiencing the same?

    • -6

if you're on an Android try IOS

    • yes mine is doing that too. but only the issue with my local store, the next closest is fine. I’ve called them for orders and sent a message to HQ

  • +1

Was told by staff member in store today that HO decided to stop adding the chip promo to the app.

    • They just emailed me about it 15 mins ago and the offer can’t be found anywhere. Not happy!

    • Just screen shot it and don't update the app.

You may as well not ask for no salt, they never take any notice, oily salty junk..

  • I was told in store to send email to IT.

  • Website now saying 4 weeks of chips (no longer 6). Have updated in title.

    • Still says 6 weeks in my app, maybe it's for new signups.

Could see that happening, they must be losing money (although it's customers that wouldn't have gone there anyway.

4 weeks is still a great deal, and enough junk food. You get your money's worth a few times over after a week.

        • Cool, I didn't think they would reneg on it for the early birds.
          Thanks.

        • +1

That’s harsh calling them a shady business. Pretty sure they can change the offer when they like to those that haven’t bought it. Whether you use 42 times or 5 times, still very good value.

        • Take them to court or just boycott for lyfe.
No doubt had something in the fine print.

Pays for itself 2-3 times so don't care, junk food too.

The originals terms that were posted

They clearly sold out - and it is well within their rights to stop offering if they've reached a limit.

Instead, they reintroduced 4 week pass and you're throwing a hissy fit because you didn't buy it within the first week.

  • I've been trying for half an hour and cannot find any way to make the purchase. Is it sold out?
I only just got the email.

    P.S. I've been a member for years.

P.P.S. It seems to be back! Got it.

    • Yes, but only 4 weeks now.

I've been checking the app almost daily, and even at 11pm last night, but no chip pass. Now that they reduced the duration to 4 weeks, it appears in my app.

An an OzBargainer, I am heartbroken. My waistline, though, is breathing a sigh of relief.

      • Yeah I'm happy it is for a more limited time, sick of them already.. I'd allow another 50 cal at least for the extra grease and sauce ha.

wouldn't worry too much, the second time you get it has paid for itself.

  • +2

For all those complaining about the weight gain, surely you are reducing your consumption of other food accordingly?

    • One would hope… but this is same as any other junk food which are usually in addition to your normal diet/meals.

  • +1

Decided to randomly check my app, and the chip promo appeared but only for 4wks. Make sure you select your store otherwise the coupon to buy won't appear. The staff last night were clueless. Oh well 4wks better than 0 weeks.

I am unable to claim my daily chips tomorrow and Sunday, if anyone feels like it, send me a PM and I'll order one for you to pickup. Let me know pick location and approx time. Thanks.

      > I am unable to claim my daily chips tomorrow and Sunday, if anyone feels like it, send me a PM and I'll order one for you to pickup. Let me know pick location and approx time. Thanks.

      nice :)

maybe we should have a chips giveaway/request megathread, especially as orders can be ready within 5-10min?

  • I bought it today but despite saying it will automatically apply at checkout it wants to charge rrp?

It's been over 2 hours since purchase

    • You just buy it at the same time you order the chips for the first time.. unless that doesn't work anymore. Everyone signing up not to order at the time or same day just confuses it I think.

  • +1

Is there a way we can check on the app or website when our chip pass will expire?

  • +1

Just got told that I can't use the 2 for 1 'Mad bunday' deal on the same day as the chip pass.
I thought as long as they are in two separate transactions it would be okay. Are they just making up random rules?!

    • Did they scan it and say it didn't work or didn't want to scan it at all?

      • +1

They didn't want to scan it at all. Just said I couldn't do it on the same day because I was claiming the 2 for 1.

        • +5

just order online or via app :)

        • +2

f that, order one online and one when you get there.

    • Technically they are within right to say so. T&Cs of Chip Pass says can't be used with any other offer.

  • Beware, buying on public holiday incurs 15% surcharge.

    • Yes but the chip pass waived it for me

      • +1

You already had the chip pass. New purchasers today cop it.

    • yes they had the sign out in QLD when it was a pub hol in WA lol

  • +1

Well? What's the verdict a few weeks in? Or did you all die of cholesterol?

    • +5

      Haven’t died yet

About to order 15 of 15 Days

I’ve been alternating between the regular chips, sweet potato and zucchini and going to 4 different Grill’d stores near me

Maintained my weight over the 15 days

I’ve been having them for lunch and eating light at night. Mostly salad for dinner and Greek yogurt for dessert

      • +1

I'm waiting to hear of whoever has purchased multiple passes and claimed everyday 🤣

I've missed 4 times so far but making the effort to get it each day

      • Are you having just the chips or with dips?

Go light on those dips as they are sodium laced and not gonna be friends with BP!

I've missed 1 day so far- some days I would just have 1/4-1/2 the regular sized portion.

        • You're allowed to miss a day or order the snack size.

        • +1

I’ve been getting the Herbed Mayo with the Zucchini and the Tomato Relish with the Regular Chips and Sweet Potato Chips

        • I go full on with the tasty dips!! So so good!

  • I got slugged a public holiday surcharge buying this yesterday and it didn’t even come through within 2 hours, so missed out on redeeming it yesterday (came at midnight lol). Livid

    • +1

Out of all the days to buy the pass… you pick a public holiday lol

You should have been able to buy the pass along with your first set of chips/dip.

      • It didn’t work - tried adding the chips and dips together with the pass purchase and it was still full price 🙃

        • There's a specific item for the chip pass

          • @grack: Hmm it didn’t show up when I added the pass or anywhere else :/ ig let that be a lesson learnt for anyone else

            • @SomeBooy: Oh no, I think you have to buy it after you get the pass loaded in your app

              • @grack: Oh yeah it works now! Just the whole next day instead :')

    • 10:40am on the receipt, so they just opened? That looks like chips from the night before.

      • Pre-order but yeah it's usually pointless and also a waste of time saying no herbs/salt as you get it anyway 9 times out of 10.
May as well just order at the counter, as the other day was 15min after the time (when ordering on the app).

Be good when this is over to be honest ha

  • +1

How's everyone going with this? I'm averaging chips every 2nd day and even then I'm getting a bit sick of them! The zuccinni ones are a bit rough (what's with that coating) so I stick with the OG chips (the best) with occasional sweet potato. Tomato relish is the best dip IMO.

    • +1

Yeah, ended up near a grill'd yesterday by pot luck haha.
Shame they are oily af, and salty even with no salt. They could do a better job on them.

Agree, tom based is always leaner in cals and fine.

    • +1

So far, 18/21. Can't get my chips on a Sunday.
      My thoughts:
      - OG Chips are the best
      - Sweet Potato Chips are too mushy
      - Zucchini ones are nice ocassionally
      - Sweet Chili, Chipotle, Tomato, Herbed Mayo (best to worst)
As an expert on the subject matter, the best combos are OG with Sweet Chilli, or if I'm feeling "healthy" Zucchini and Tomato Relish.

It's either comforting or concerning to see that the staff already know who I am from the moment I walk in.

      • +1

Sweet Chilli mayo is a bit too rich/thick for me. After a few dips it gets too much.
Sweet Potato are great if you give them a few minutes in an air-fryer or oven. Otherwise yep, too mushy and oily.
Also, I didn't get one of their fancy paper bags this time around. Just a small plain brown bag!

      • Try mixing the herb mayo with the tomato relish.
        Sensational

    • 11/12 days. The zucchini ones are nasty, been mostly getting sweet potato with some original mixed in. Been stocking up on the chipotle mayo, but havent been using it. Saving it up for not so far in the future use, thinking of using it for some burritos

      • +1

        zucchini ones are nasty

unfortunately seems that they changed them with their potato chips :(

        • +1

All of their chips are nasty these days, but free is free.

  • If I buy now does it really take up to 2 hours for the pass to be activated on your account? I’m in Grill’d store and it closes in 30 mins.. will I succeed with first free chips today if I buy now?

    • +2

Back when it first started, I was able to buy the chip pass along with my first day's worth of chips in the same order on the app. Not sure how things have changed since. Worth asking them to see if they can do something like that for you.

    • +1

When I tried to buy one in store, it did take more than 30mins to arrive. In the end they took pity on me and provide a free small chips in lieu.

  • +2

11/12 - Anyone else having issues with the app at the payment processing stage?
Last 2 days, just sit’s there.
    Never actually processes.
Have to go in and scan my relish code to place a manual order.

Could just be me, have restarted app.
    Uninstalled and reinstalled app.
    Restarted iPhone. Etc

    • +1

      Same thing for me

      • +1

Easier just ordering at the counter half the time. You have to go there anyway to pick it up.

  • +1

Unable to pick up my chips today, anyone keen?

  • +3

Just noticed on my recent Grill'd trip - they have hot sauces on the counter for eat-in patrons to use! Next time I'm gonna slather some on my cup of chips before leaving (sick of the usual dipping sauces)

  • +1

Been a good 4 weeks already, not too long to go 😂.

    • +1

I'm rolling into my birthday month.

  • Kids are getting a bit sick of them - Still pick them up on the way past tho, just cause…

We live 5 mins away from a Grilld, so easy.

If you can get a friendly enough staff member who can throw you an extra sauce occasionally, try mixing the Tomato Relish Sauce with the Herb Mayo (?) Great taste

We have replicated the Herb/Salt combo and are using this when we air fry chips at home.

Only missed 3 days so far..

    • +1

Pretty good effort, and not a burger to be bought haha (why would you).

      • We went there when this Grilld 1st opened up and spent over $90 on Dinner - 2 adults 2 kids.
Thought that was a bit exe…

I'm not into the Chips atm, Kids like them tho.
The burgers arent bad, but not part of my diet either…

        • +1

True.. yeah I'd only get w burger if it was a 2-4-1 Monday, probably can't use the chip pass as well (although maybe they'd do it if they see you there every day haha).

Yes none of it healthy, depends what else you consume the rest of the day.

        • +1

Yep definitely expensive. McDonald's happy meal is $5.75 with a toy. That keeps the kids happy. Obviously can't compare on taste and quality but for fast food Grill'd is expensive.

          • +1

@0 0 0: Yeah not worth paying over 12-13$ for a burger, like the price they used to be. Even then it's not particularly healthy (at all).

Getting a bit over the chips but good if you've had a day or two off em.

  • So the 6-week mark is tomorrow (assuming you bought the pass on Tuesday 28th May, the day the deal was posted). Does this mean today's the last day? Or tomorrow?

    • Tomorrow 4pm for me

      • How can you tell?

        • +2

If you click on your Coupons and the Chip Pass it will show you

If you purchased on the first day it will be whatever time you ordered that day tomorrow that it Expires

          • @SaintSteve: Is a new day counted on a 24-hour basis, or does it reset at 12.01am everyday?

          • @SaintSteve: Thanks for this. Had a look at mine just then and saw it was about to expire today at 12. Was able to place an order for pick up tonight though. If anyones worried about what day/time there pass expires try and order ahead of time.

  • +12

Huge shout out to Grill'd for being so chill with this deal. I've probably rocked up to the same store about 35 days out of the 42. I even collected 2 chip pass orders at a time most times (one was from my dads account but I still had to pick it up for him). Staff knew me by name/face near the end of it but always welcomed me and never questioned it. Thanks Grill'd for the awesome deal! Has been one hell of a month.

  • +13

43/43!! Has sufficed as lunch on weekdays for me. App got stuck at processing once but managed to order at counter. Thanks so much OP and Grill'd!!

  • +1

Long Time Lurker, 1st time Bargainer.
Thanks Grill’d for this awesome deal.
I think I used most Monday-Friday’s for lunch, and on a weekend too(lookout).
Staff at the Perth store were always great to deal with during the pass period. They said they were the busiest in the state with this deal.
On days I had other lunch plans, I’d still redeem the pass, go into the store(across the road from my work) to collect, and pay it forward.
My waistline may be a little larger, but my wallet says thanks.

    • What was your final tally (order confirmations should be in your email)? Also how did you pay it forward, just hand it out to a random?

  • +1

So what was everyone's final tally? I only managed 17/43 (first day was forfeited so really 17/42). There were days I flat out forgot, or just didn't feel like chips. Worked out 58c per serve so I'm happy enough with that. Won't be having Grill'd for years now…

    • 31/43

    • 38/43

    • 14/43 I probably should have had a higher tally but still well worth it.

  • 34/43 happy with that
