Nice find, great watch with awesome lume. Some links to reviews from my old posts -

Best to pay in USD using a credit card with no international transaction fees like 28 degrees mastercard.

Edit - For those that like it thick, how about the SD1982 @ 22.6mm thick.

I actually just bought the SD1953 from this store yesterday lol. Looks like I paid $9 too much compared to today. I'll turn over my OzB license now.

  • Showing up AUD 77.24 for me?

I had the opportunity to do a side-by-side comparison between the $85 Steeldive SD1970 and the $3K blue dial Seiko Willard LE, and the SD punches so far above its weight, I was genuinely astonished.

Case and bracelet are well-made and -finished, bezel action is crisp, and the dial and hand finishing can’t really be faulted.

For build quality, consistency of case shape, case finishing, and overall feel, the SD shits all over my SKX007 and SKX009, which I paid $200 each for back in the day.

IMHO, the SD is probably the best value automatic watch money can buy, and if my wrist was chunkier, I’d own one already. As it stands, I live in hope of the brand one day releasing a smaller variant.

Dang how low can it go
If you’re even half on the fence just get it
    Such an underrated piece
Should be easy as hell to resell if you’re a catch-and-release type of operator.

  • 4.5% cashrewards cash back. Also choice day is coming which will further discount it.

    • The dilemma is the price might get jacked though.

  • Why is the strap so narrow and the watch body so chunky?
Makes it look like a dude with a fat gut wearing skinny jeans

Google "Seiko 6105 8110" and all will be revealed.

No, that's not the phone number to Seiko® head office in Sydney.

      • I was disappointed this was not a covert undercover 69 or 420 reference

          You're the 8th person I've disappointed today

    • You could get a fluted strap that tapers out, then down to 20 for the lugs.
Or buy a 24-26mm and carefully trim to 20mm at the ends.
      Consider it a challenge.

  • Sapphire crystal at this price for a daily beater is elite. The bracelet really does suck, but should be able to change it to a better bracelet or a different strap.

  • Why did I buy this?

    • +1

      To tell the time?

      • And you make more money wearing a watch because you won't be late to work.

      It looks good on you

  • Am I missing how to get the metal band (as pictured) for AU$86? If I select it, it's AU$113

    • +2

It's now out of stock so it reverts to it's previous price.

    • Select one of the rubber strap options instead and you'll save a couple of $$ more. The metal bracelet is rubbish anyway, and you'd likely be swapping it for something better so you might as well just get rubber anyway. Plus, this is a solid watch so you'll find the rubber feels a lot lighter and more comfortable to wear.

Price got jacked ahead of the choice sale. It's now about AUD$93 before discounts. With the coupon it will bring it down to about AUD$84-85.

  • +1

Hi Op, the price has been jacked now because the sale has started with coupon codes so you might want to edit the post -

    Use code… 24SC04 to take off US$4.

Got the black with metal band as it was same price as the silicon bands. With the discount code, coins and shopback cashback, it came to about $79 delivered. If I dislike the metal band, I'll get a nato band. The silicon bands they supply just don't look great imo.

The listing in this post is not the cheapest at the moment. Search for sd1970 then sort by price to make sure you are getting best deal.

Ah yes they like having different links for the same store. Here it is for… US$54.40 + GST.

Thanks for the info guys. Post has been updated with codes and new links.
