Waiting for Bunnings to enter the chat. This one please

    • that has the cartridge filter included aldi doesn’t so not sure how pressured bunnings feel to match it.

      • Well, bunnings, if you are listening in, if you don't match it, I guess I'll have to just get the Aldi one…

  • Apart from the capacity difference how does this compare to… Ozito 1250W 20L Wet And Dry Vac $69.98.

    • I'll pay for this cause of Bunnings no brainer returns policy

      • How is Bunnings policy better? Aldi accepts returns for 60 days no questions asked.
Bunnings only accepts change of mind returns if it’s unused.

        • +4

After 60days you'll probably only be able to return for refund, which is good in a way, but if you want a replacement, Bunnings would have that covered.

          • +7

@Widget: So return it for a refund and go buy a Bunnings one.

            • @joshk: Or just buy from Bunnings & save the hassle of going back to ALDI then going over the Bunnings.

        • Aldi receipts are terrible quality, at lease with bunnings, you can sms the receipt.

          • @pformag: Other than when they first rolled out the SMS receipts, I've since never once been asked for my number and they always automatically skip the phone number option in the POS. After that they can't SMS to you, I've tried.

I just take a photo of the receipt in the car and upload

            • @theguyrules: If you use self serve checkouts you can select it yourself.
Or if an SMS receipt is important to you, tell them you'd like an SMS receipt before they scan the items?

              • @AmperSand: I've only seen the self serve checkouts at our local open maybe twice

SMS receipts aren't that important to me - just an observation. Taking a photo works well for me.

        • So I can use it for 59 day, then return it? No questions asked that I used it?

      • +2

Me too - and I know I can always get spare bags easily

        • bags when needed is important, 30l bags are longer, if you use 20l bags in the 30 they fall off inside once it has a bit of weight in the bag.

          • @garage sale: Can't you just fill the empty space under the bag in that case with something like an old cushion or a towel or 2?

            • @AmperSand: yes , Styrofoam worked for me in emergency, but easier of to have right sized bag

    • Something something "Aldi limited". That's how people justify AldiRRP.

You should see some of the fake bargain rep posts on here.

Like the Big Man Tyrone ones, the worst part is if you neg these you get silenced by the mods

          • +2

@BargainMe: Examples of mods silencing? I sure don't see any mod action there.

One was removed by the community for having more than -8 against the comment

Your one was removed for saying it was "just an ad". This reason for neg did not fall into one of the valid reason for neg in the voting guidelines. All rep posts are considered ads.

        • At least Tyrone's prices change. Unlike AldiRRP..

    • I could be wrong but I think this Ferrex version has a 1kw power take-off/outlet where as the ozito you have linked doesn't. Ozito power take-off version is $119

  • Dumb question: with something like this, would I still need my corded Dyson?
    Thanks

This is now for outdoors.. dyson for indoors

I found my wet vacuum most useful for sucking the stink bugs off my lemon trees lol

      • stink bugs off my lemon trees

In this case, dishwashing liquid mixed with water is your friend.

        • I tried that and insecticide.. it don't work… They still come back… But physically removing them actually worked

          • +3

@hippyhippy: Nail several bugs to the tree along with a note saying "you were warned". Maybe then they'll get the message.

            • @Widget: Good idea, but I'll warn you it doesn't work for every creature. My granddad (long dead now) shot a crow in his macadamia nut tree because the "caw caw" noises were driving him nuts. He then strung up the dead one by its feet to keep the others away. 15min after he'd done that, there were about twenty crows all hanging around, all "caw caw"-ing for hours. I heard him wishing that he hadn't been required to hand in his Browning machine gun after his WWII service…

Makes you wonder about some nursery rhymes

                Sing a song of sixpence,
                A pocket full of rye.
                Four and twenty blackbirds
                Baked in a pie.

                • +1

@AmperSand: OK, nerding out here slightly. There are lots of references in historical texts, diaries, cookbooks and so on to dishes where live birds were put into a pie just before serving them on to the feast table. But they weren't supposed to be eaten. Instead, they were like an amusement between courses, or as you'd just sat down at the table. The French word for these was entremet, and they could be things like decorative castles, or a peacock that had been plucked & cooked then had all its feathers reattached, and so on.

My granddad told me he'd eaten crow when he was a kid, growing up in outback QLD in the 1920's. He didn't recommend it, and said "with a little more effort, you could have an emu to eat, and those were a lot better."

  • Would something like this be good for Artificial Grass ?

    • It would be great for that

    • Get the corded garden vacumm Ozito brand from bunnings

  • I bought one of these and about to take it back. Brand new out of the box, plugged it in and shot sparks everywhere. Small burn on my carpet

    beware of this one

    • +2

That was the special edition with built in fireworks.

    • +1

Did you take the "wet" part too seriously and fill it with water or something? 😁

      • lol - I didnt get that far. Aldi returned it with no issues and offered some money towards the carpet. Overall a fair outcome

  • bunnings vs aldi 20 l vs 30 l becomes an issue when trying to buy cheap filter bags, having gone through several vac brands and sizes during reno’s i find the ongoing need for cheap filter bags the problem. not an issue if using the foam filter and doing saw dust, etc but finner dust needs the bags and if you get one with a cartridge filter bundled in that’s a $20 saving.

    • +3

So which one is better for the filter bag problem?

    • +2

What's more economical, buying for the 20L or 30L ?

  • Can anyone suggest a powerful portable one for vacuuming car interior? Must be able to vacuum pet hair
