    Beware that the cheapest SYD-SIN price I could find to take advantage of these fares is $389 (most were just over $500). That's still half the price of MEL-SIN ret with Jetstar; I wish Scoot flew to Melbourne.

      You've already got Tiger on the Singapore route. With Virgins investment, that service should get better. And Scoot has recently entered into a partnership with Tiger, so they would not want to step on Tiger's toes!

        AFAIK Tiger no longer offers Melbourne to Singapore.

          I only fly out of GC (Scoot, AirAsia, Jetstar, etc) or Cairns (Jetstar to Japan).

          Looked up Tiger's Singapore - Oz offering… only to Perth, Sydney, Gold Coast
          Could only find Tiger flights out of Perth.
          Tried a search for SIN-SYD/GC flight & got This flight is only available on Scoots' website at flyscoot.com!!

          So Virgin (part owned by Singapore Airlines) is the majority shareholder in the domestic carrier Tiger Airways Australia. Tiger Airways (Singapore owned) is in partnerhip with Scoot that is owned by Singapore Airlines… I'm learning.

    Keep in mind that most fares outside Australia are advertised as base fare, then taxes etc are added on top.

    The cheapest fare SIN->SYD in December is $116SGD, but once you select it, it becomes $177SGD

    Fare $ 116.00
    Airport Imposed Pax Security Fee $ 8.00
    Govt. Imposed Aviation Levy $ 6.10
    Airport Imposed Pax Service Fee $ 13.90
    Airport Imposed Intl. Pax Service Fee $ 33.71

    TOTAL $ 177.71

    Only fares advertised in Australia and in Australian dollars need to be "all in". If you're buying from Singapore in Singapore dollars, it's always "plus plus" :(

    Quite often with Scoot it is actually cheaper to buy 2 one-way flights rather than a return - taking into account currency exchange and specials which may be running here or in Singapore. I tried to get flights in March, and the return leg was ~$250AUD if I brought as part of a return, or less than $200SGD when I brought it as a one-way fare.

      I bought a 1 way ticket ($99 GC to SIN) & waited for a deal the other way (Air Asia last week $72 KL to GC)

      Not in this case. Advertised prices are the TOTAL price eg SIN-SYD AU$116
      (SIN-OZ fares converted to AUSTRALIAN dollars for this deal)
      The prices you give are SINGAPORE$, not AU$.
      Your example "TOTAL $ 177.71" = AU$140
      I checked before posting & were still flights for AU$116 TOTAL price SIN-SYD, but AU$140 now.
      $140 TOTAL price SIN-SYD fares are also available OUTSIDE the travel period!

    UPDATE: Made a mistake in title (but not in details) - $116 SIN to SYD, not $148(SGD).

      I am searching SIN-SYD flights now - flights available all of December, but may not be any left at these prices. Still AU$78 flights SIN-GC in travel period.
